Its Pat's turn this week to chose the theme for Tuesday Taggers and she has chosen BUGS! The team have had a lot of fun with the theme and produced some great work hope you will check it out. We have a sponsor this week The Craft Barn remember to leave a link to them this week to be in the random draw for their prize.
Based my card on a canvas from a few weeks back, yellow card worked with various shades of distress and Nick Bantock inks. The stamps are Inkadinkdo morphing bugs in brown the bee embossed in copper. Viva top and bottom touched with shiny acrylic paint. Dragonfly wings and bees body filled with sakura. Dots of Crafty Notions Rainbow glaze, its another one of those when I know who its for a sentiment will be added.

Over at Lots to do Forum we have a swap going on. We make a Postcard, a Tag and an ATC each one has to have something floral, texture and glitter as well as the one or more of the colours Blue, Green and Yellow.
Tried to use all three colours on each piece and Tanda stamps from their Floral Flourishes set. The background of the ATC is direct to paper, with viva ferro paste and viva matallic paint in touches. the flowers were filled with glossy accents and green glitter.
The post card used the pva/alcohol ink technique terra paste and in my minds eye buttons and some fibers. Glitter sprinkled onto spots of the wet pva, once it was dry touches of viva ferro over the viva terra and the flowers just stamped on in green stayzon
The tag stared as a piece of glossy card that was starched having read Jozart's fabulous how to. Using a nestie die cut the tag out, edged it with nick Bantock yellow. Flowers stamped on in green stayzon and then the flowers and butterfly filled with stickles.
Not sure about the end results but great fun making these :)

Third post today! Hilda was thrilled last week by the numbers of people who joined in the Lots to do challange, amazing work very exciting to be part of that. This week the theme is Vintage, great opportunity to add a much needed card to the stock.
Girl with violin foam backed stamp from QVC, Versamark sepia on whitewash torn to show the core. Paper a papermaina freebie from the green grocer a couple of years back. Distress stickles highlighting here and there. We are memory keepers metal corners and photo corners just to add the vintage feel. when I know who/what it is for will add a sentiment.
Popped over to Brenda's this morning to see that she had been altering & beautifully. So off to Allsorts to find out what the challange is this week. Its alter or recycle something right up my street, if you know this little place you'll know its got lots of altered things in it.
Sam is running a swap over at Lots to do forum for distressed makes, any thing so long as its distressed. I'll send it with a box Sam so you can forward it to whoever gets it in the end
At Banana books last week-end they had these little straw hats for children (thats me under 10) to make easter bonnets with. It was time to change the shower scrunchy always thought they would make interesting blooms. A few weeks back got a bag of broken jewellery at a charity shop it included an interesting string of beads.
Cut some of the stitching on the hat, start scrunching stiching and gluing. GMs out and a little aging with a distress ink pad. Theres glitter on there as well as a bit of orange ribbon and the buttons from in my minds eye. the hat came with a handy bit of chin elastic perfect for hanging it on the wall.
Last Friday of March! so last trinchie this time with crowns. 3" square of card from packing or something. Crowns stencilled from used grunge board and then sprayed with GM Iridescent Gold. Outlined the crowns in sakura and masked. Background stamped with, and face stamped onto acatate attached to base with a single brad. Last of the grunge board crowns coloured with cats eye matallic. points of crowns given gems.

Tuesday again! time for a new challenge at Tuesday Taggers and this week the theme was chosen by Lynn. This week Lynn wants us to alter things. Begining to get why I so enjoy being part of this team, you don't have to make a tag but will almost certainly have fun what ever your style.
This body butter tub started out as a Shea butter tub and was cream coloured, forgot to take the before piccy, sorry. Alcohol inks pink green coffee, then the blending stuff and pearl mixative all sealed with glossy modge podge and pink gilding flakes. The last time I used gilding flakes it was with Glossy accents sealing it all in and the flakes gold that time they turned green, this time with Modge Podge they stayed pink. While on the subject of what can go wrong Alcohol ink onto a tub and then coated with distress crackle paint in rock candy will lift the ink off and turn it to dust ummmm. Flower as you can see is embossed grunge paper, bottom layer cut out 5 petals and then cut into them and layer then up with strong glue to form the base petals then shaped to curl under. More grunge paper cut with a circle nestie cut each section and curl up. Colour with Nick Bentock red and yellow back and front. Attach two parts togather with big brad and stick onto tub lid. Result great little gift and useful as well.
So what will you alter?

Really got the feeling of Spring this week all fresh and pastel and pretty. 250 miles north Hilda is also feeling the spring and has asked us all to express Spring for Lots to do this week. At the same time the peeps over at Allsorts are also thinking spring. Mean while Sue got the bug to have us make aperture cards for the Tanda Teaser this week.
Used a nestie to cut a hole slightly off centre on my card, lined the inside with floral paper and topped that with the mat from the hole. One of Sue's Mac ladies stamped and embossed onto glossy card and coloured with Promarkers. Tanda Floral stamps randomly on the mat and topper another Tanda stamp embossed in white as a border of the card. Alcohol ink in yellow and green dotted around and flowers punched from the left over backing paper and attached. Self adhesive gems centre the flowers and at the edge of the hole. Topper on pads so that it actually stands proud of the card.
Week three of the thrinchie challange and this time the theme is musical instruments. Cut square and pat blue blending block onto craft mat, swish square on mat for swiled background. Butterfly Kisses college set, main stamp used for cello and keyboard at bottom stamped first in yellow and then overstamped in red, red and yellow memento pads. Separately in Distressed pumice stamp Beethoven image, subsequently this was covered in part with glossy accents to bring out the image. the sentiment is from the same set also stamped in yellow and over stamped in red.

Its Tuesday again and a new challenge atTuesday Taggers. Avril has chosen this theme of Jester/Masquerade Ball. Well if you know me at all you will know were my mind went instantly.
Papermache blank in a shape that is reminiscent of a Jesters hat, Venetian Masquerade Balls are famous for the masks the party goers wore. White gesso base and then buff acrylic paint and almost dry brush copper shading and contrast. Music themed paper from a book of papers decouparged on with modge podge. Outlines followed with gold red blue green braid, altered glue and rainbow glaze Tiger Lily and Golden Terracotta GMs gave him a very handsome tan. Self adhesive gems and a quick blast with Silver spray and sparkle for added shimmer and shine.
If you think it took skill or was hard to make this think again, these blanks are really easy and fun to decorate. The altered glue is something i usually have laying around it takes about a week for that to dry so i keep some handy. As for the rest the longest and hardest part was drying time and waiting for it to dry. it really is just a case of painting and glueing don't start with a vision just a vague idea and go with the flow. Give it a go, its fun!
Do hope you will pop over to see the fab makes from the DT and join in with us this week.

Oh its been fun today lots of inky messy playing and stamping! Sam is hosting a swap over at Lots to do Forum the idea is to make the 5 items shown incorporating 2 or more stamped images om each of them, kinda no other embelishments.
Time to play with distress inks and Nick Bentock Inks & on the arch Colourbox chalk inkpads. Out come the stamps, lots of Tanda also Paper Artsy, Stamp bug & Stamp'in up. Eclipse paper for masks. The fridge door's mask collection grew quite a bit today. The travel post card has a coating of Distress crackle , jurys still out. Mystical fbp sprayed with GM & tag lady's dress filled with Sakura glaze.
Week of the trinchies at Something Completely different with the theme this week of men.
I think this is the only man image in my entire stash, unless you count Santa of course. Cannot tell who the manufacture is it is one of 4 plates from Ringwood last year each of which was a bargain but not labled, the birds are from the same plate. Some direct to paper colouring, man image and all his thought process embossed in black whole piece sprayed with Pearl GM.

Been a while since playing along with Allsorts but needing to make some Birthday cards their great colour theme of Black, White and Pink for this week gave me the perfect opportunity.
Tanda Teaser this week set by Wendy is Simply Spring suggesting the excitment of all the new growth in the northern hemisphere. Well it finally seems to be here anyway.
Lace stamped and embossed onto Vellum and attached to a pink panal. The Art Nouveau plant stamped and embossed in white onto black card. All the stamps are Tanda the lace is probably one of Andrews photo creations its been sitting in my collection for a couple of years think it might come out more often now! Fibers just to add a bit of fluff.
Well Hilda has come up trumps again asking us this week to turn our imagination to locks and keys, her own key board is fabulous. This litte cutton bud box has been sitting on my work area waiting for me to do something with it. A little treasure chest seemed a good idea.
Grunge paper inked and inked and inked with Spiced Marmalade, frayed burlap and Nick Bantock's Sapmoss Green. As Lucy mentioned recently when worked grunge paper feels more and more like leather and that was the look and feel i has going for. All the stamps on the box are from Tanda in black to give the impression of tooled leather. A little visa Ferro on the lip of the box and lid to hide the clear plastic and add age. The padlock stamped onto metal is also from Tanda. the Key is from the Stamp bug. The catch is plated wire. All because somebody suggested Locks and Keys as a theme for Lots to do this week!

For March Something Completely Different are inviting us to work on "THRINCHIES" which are explained as 3" squares. A new size to me and very interesting, the theme for this week is Love and Romance. Fabulous work by the DT there very well worth a look. Carol has also posted a list of people who have sent in atc swaps from last month and boy does your truely find herself in the company of some very talented and exciting artists, cannot wait to see which swaps come back.
So a bit late this week but have cut out a little blue 3" square and used a Clarity frame that is just slightly to big to edge it. Penny Black 'love birds' well I think they are in love and discussing where to put the family nest :) Flat back heart shape gems in threes add a little bling, the flowers at the bottom came from my SCD prize a few months back been tough to use anything from that lovely little kit but these were just right for this.

St Patricks day is the 17th March Teri chose it as the theme for this week's Tuesday Taggers and that has led directly to leprechauns.
Used Teri's digital art leprechaun's hat that has been flocked and coloured with Promarkers. Leprechauns have crocks of gold at the end of rainbows also with the aid of promarkers. A photo from some paper purchased years ago, stickles and here and there and distressed ink around the edges. Good Luck stamped onto an acrylic tag hanging from the rainbow. So here's a hoping a little 'luck of the Irish' rubs off on you all.

When Monalisa/Sue saw this glue and alcohol ink tutorial she thought it would be fun for us to do a swap at Lots to do Forum based on the technique and making ATCS. I have used PVA glue, distressed crackle paint, glossy accents, crackle glossy accents and glossy modge podge. The horses are stencils with diamension paste I did a while back and then did not use. butterfly heat embossed onto acatate. Sail ship from the Tanda transport set and the pearls came from Artistic Stamper random scraps bag.
The weekly challenge at Lots to do has to be checked out each week! Hilda enjoys nothing more than getting inky and messy and then getting the rest of us to do the same, its so bad her OH made her do in a shed at the bottom of the garden LOL. Anyway this week she has got us distressing. A few weeks ago I picked up a bag of broken jewellery at a charity shop in it was a hair clip with a rather vicious fastner on the back.
Clip sanded down to take the gloss paint off it and applied distress inks, spiced marmalade, shabby shutters and scattered straw. The sanded wood grabbed the colours. Great new Limited Edition stamp 'Hippie Flower' stamped and embossed onto heat resist acatate and again onto shrink plastic, after shrinking the little flower was heat embossed with the same Copper EP. And it had to happen made three of the little roses out of paper and then dabbed Tattered Rose distressed stickles onto them. Left it all overnight for the glue to dry and as the sun is shining wall to wall outside took it into the garden to photograph. Hope it is distressed enough.

Honestly at the week-end when I got Transport set 1 from Tanda I had no idea that Sue would use one of the set to make this weeks Tanda Teaser When I know who it is for I'll 'finish' it off with an suitable greeting or name. Had a little play with my new TH goodies as well.
Distress 'Scatter Straw' and 'Brushed cordroy' onto glossy card the engine then stamped in brown stayzon. The plane was stamped in versamark sepia and more distressed ink worked into edge of some tan card. Topper held in place with randomly placed eyelets. A quick and easy Man's card.

Goodness its March! and maybe just maybe spring is finally approaching! Well it was sunny today (Monday) Tomorrow Tuesday sees a new challenge over at Tuesday Taggers am writing this before going to bed will publish in the morning before going to work have not figured out how to schedule postings yet.
So this week we have a sponsor Crafty Individuals remember to mention them with your challenge piece. And this weeks challenge set by Pat is Curly and Swirly.
Pushed for time this week so kept things simple, the swirl is a sizzix die cut with coordinations paper and distressed. If that did'nt upset it enough glitter coated brads were set down its length one near the top and one at the bottom used to attach it to the card. Three frilled strips of quilling paper rolled and splayed and glued into place balanced by a stampin' up greeting. Please do pop over to the site to see all the other great makes from the DT and share your curly swirly makes with us.
