Tanda Teaser 179

Very late last night at the end of a telephone conversation with Sue  this card got made.  It was gone 1am when it was finished to late to photograph and blog!   Well when your TV dies what else is there to do but craft, actually what else is there to do anyway?

The main image, a vintage sewing machine, is from Tanda's aqua range.   I stumbled on it by chance and fell in love with it.   Its is quite a big image so this is a large card.   All card coloured with DI Old Paper, Scattered Straw, Wild Honey and Antique Linen.   The image was stamped with Vintage Photo then water coloured with Aged Mahogany and Pumice Stone.  The sentiment coloured in the same way and then heat embossed with WOW powder.

A cotton doily (pack of 10 from Poundland) has been sprayed with Coffee Shop glimmer mist, and then rinsed out.   Once it was dry it has been cut in two and used as the first layer.   The main image has been die cut with the cuttlebug jigsaw die and then attached to some brown card with strips of lace down either side.    The background images are also Tanda Stamps in a random arrangement.

Went to bed satisfied and am still pleased with the final card this morning so thought I'd share it now, as my entry to:-

Primary Christmas

Does not make much difference to me unfortunately but yesterday was the last of the UK public holiday until Christmas.   Hope you all made the most of it and had a good day.   Here it has been more de-cluttering and crafting storing up some things to share with you when the move means the toys tools are packed away.

Need to start making Christmas cards as well have a few ready but need to keep adding to them.    This card is based on  Gingersnaps Colour challenge for August, which is to use Primary Colours Yellow, Red and Blue.  August has also been a month of celebrating childhood for the Gingers.

Very basic card using coloured card stock, Christmas stencils and Sakura glitter pens.   The little drummer boys are stamps made from my own drawing coloured with Promarkers.

Sunset

Are you a follower of F1? Did you follow yesterday's race? wasn't it a good one!    Cracking race and brilliant result for Mr. Button.      British team 3 day eventing did not finish quite so well but a bronze  medal is not to be sniffed at.

Non of which has anything to do with this Sunset Scene.    looking around at yesterday's challenges One caught my eye, Make it Colourful, with a theme of Sunset with Clouds.   All the stamps are Tanda, the tree from Safari set 1, setting sun from Background set 1 and the birds are from their Aqua stamps.   Stamped and masked the tree, cotton wool with Versa watermark dotted over the sky and then brayered over with Big and Juicy sunset pad.    Then the sun stamped in, mask removed and piece brayered over again.   Orange Sakura fills the areas of the tree that the ink had not reached.    Black Sakura extends the horizon.    Big and Juicy Foliage used for the land, tree given a little shadow.   Birds stamped into the sky, and the clouds given a darker top using the cotton wool and dark end of the sunset B&J pad.

Being rather pleased with the outcome am sharing this with.

Combining 3 previous LIM Challenges

Personally I think the ribbon is to much but not at all sure the paper ribbon used to quill with counts as ribbon.

What am I on about?   The latest Less is More challenge.   This week the recipe challenge is to use any three previous LIM challenges for your project.

White on White I do not need any excuse
Embossing, a cuttlebug folder
Things with legs The bird

I did not need that flippin' ribbon and bow did I?

Pulled the ribbon off, popped the button back a) because I like it and b) it covers a little damage where the ribbon was removed.

Another challenge that this might qualify for, Creations by Gill M   -  Things that fly

Voyages Imaginaires

I'm not one for Journals but when going away always take a sketch book.   So when I realised that this fortnight the project at The Stamp man is Travel setting up a new sketch book became my entry.

The book itself came from Paper Mill when they were closing their shops.   The covers are really stiff hardboard great for working on.   Dismantled the book on the Cinch to work on the cover without touching the rest of the pages.   Distress Stain in Wild Honey, stamped with DI Vintage Photo and Rusty Hinge for the detailed stamps Versafine Sepia.   The stamps are Creative Expression Timeless Journey and Carte Postale, the pens are inkadinkado and birds Tanda.   Edged the page with DI Aged Mahogany and coloured the tissue tape with it.

Put the book back together then added some TH film strip, and an inspiration tag.   Some metal corners and finally added some fibers and ribbon down the spine.

Just for Fun - White, Black, Silver and another

Well its happened again another month of challenges at Just for Fun is drawing to a close.   All this month we have been directed by Sam to explore white, then with the addition of black and last week silver was added to the mix.   This week Sam has taken away our training wheels and is letting us choose the forth and final colour!

As you might have noticed stencils and Dreamweaver embossing paste has been featured on all my projects.    This time the penguin stencil on black card with the white crackle paste.  After removing the stencil white and yellow perfect pearls sprinkled over the top.   Silver pen for the three lines at the bottom and underlining the Warm Tidings greeting which was embossed with silver EP.

This is a successful set of challenge's for us at Just for Fun this month, really looking forward to seeing which colour you bring to the mix this week.

Dragon's Dream Tag it on - Make a get away

This is my last DT piece for Dragon's Dream TIO, with the impending move and other commitments I'm not able to do the challenge justice and so have stepped down.   It has been a lot of fun these last 3 month's sharing different challenges with the rest of the team, once I'm settled looking forward to joining in the challenges again.

This week then Frankie aka Dragon is once again leading the dream.   As it is holiday season Frankie has chosen the fitting theme of Travel.   My tag is a collage of travel themed papers, the biplane and steam train are Tanda stamps from their Transport set.   The ticket is of course TH as is the Journey tag and acrylic 'film strip'.

So as I sail off into the sunset will you go on a journey of your own and share the travel with us at Dragon's Dream TIO?

Craft Room Challenge - Masking

No not another of my masks! using masks.

We have a new challenge starting today at Craft-Room Challenge and after a two week feast of White on White we are really looking forward to see what you make of this one.    It is the wonderfully talented Esther who selected this weeks challenge.  Esther has had us all using masks or masking.   Its a technique I use quite a lot but set as a challenge could not for the life of me summon up any ideas!

Then I got some new Tanda Stamps, these are new in stock at Craft Room.   The vintage lady from Retro Women set 2 looks like a sophisticated world traveler and so she has been teamed up with the suitcase and the globe from Travel Set 1.   Various travel themed papers have been torn and layered as a background.   A sheet of acetate cut just slightly smaller than the card stamped in stayzon Timber Brown with various modes of transport from Tanda.   A nestie topper coloured with DI Tattered Rose, Victorian Velvet and Dusty Concord unusual colours for me but they seem to fit the background.   Finally the suitcase was stamped and masked, then the lady who was also masked and the globe stamped.   The lady has been coloured with ProMarkers.

We love visiting your blogs and seeing the wonderful things up all make and for the next fortnight we are eagerly looking forward to your masking.   If you don't already know if you add the shop logo and a link to    http://www.craft-room.co.uk/ to your sidebar you will be entered into the prize draw for £10 to spend at Craft Room .    See you soon at Craft-Room Challenge.

Allsorts - Frame it

This week's challenge at Allsorts is to use a frame.    Lots and lots of scope there had to give this a little thought.

Chosen to use Tando Flourish 7 as my frame.   Cream linen card stamped with images from Andy Skinner's back to Nature set using DI, Adirondack and Colour box Chalk ink.   The flourishes coloured with DI Vintage Photo and Rusty Hinge, and then coated with Glossy Accents Crackle.    The TH bird stamped with Adirondack Espresso onto rainbow coloured vellum.   The vellum is layered under and over the Tando pieces.

Used a new to me glue to attach everything, Eco Green.   Have fallen in love with everything about this glue from the dispensing top to the easy of putting glue where you want it and then the quick dry to a good firm hold.

Tando Chipboard, Andy Skinner Stamps, Distress Inks and Eco Green glue all available at the Craft-Room

Tanda Teaser - Monochrome

Have just been playing with this Tanda Oriental Panel image.   One of my favourite stamps it is very versatile the design is pretty much a mirror image and works either way up.   Please excuse the wonky angle the surface was not completely flat that the card is standing on.

Had a couple of goes at this, the Tanda Teaser this week is Monochrome decided in the end to use just Adirondack Sail Boat Blue.   Swiped this over the card first just on the side the stamp would be on.   Inked the stamp with the same pad blotted it and then stamped it onto the card.

For my second card I used the peacock panel from Tanda's Art Nouveau Borders, and sentiment from their Birthday verses.   A small red brayer inked up with Big n Juicy Waterfall ink then transferred to the images.  Glamour dust sprinkled over the wet ink  while not visible in the picture just gives it a lift.  Both the stamp sets used here are part of the new stocks of Tanda stamps at Craft-Room.

As well as entering both cards into the Tanda Teaser, they are are being entered into Less is More which this week is use ink.   Messing around with ink is very much my territory it is by its nature messy!   You do not have to be neat clean and tidy with it even with a CAS style.  step outside the norm be a little un-conventional express yourself let go and see what happens you have no one to please but yourself.

Right removal man coming to give me a quote this afternoon best get on and maybe get the sucky thing out.

My book of Tando, Session 7

Just for Fun - Black, white and

Is it really the third Thursday in August guess it must be!    Last week we were looking at Black and White for Just for Fun and you showed us some fantastic pieces thank you.

This week Sam continues to build on her colour theme by adding silver to the black and white.   Out came the white crackle paste and a stencil, seems there is a bit of a embossing paste thing going on for me this month!

The black and silver card is Kanban, the strip of silver ribbon at the top of the center square came from a Glitterati pack.

Sorry Neet but I'm sharing my card again!   With
The house that stamps built   -   create a scene with just Black White and one other.

Dragon's Dream Tag it on - Child's play

Very sadly Janet who set this week's challenge has had to step down from Dragon's Dream TIO team.   Life has a habit of getting in the way sometimes and Janet will be much missed by the team.

This week's theme then is Children.   After a bit of thought remembered this un-used stamp by Inkadinkado.   Using Stayzon stamped the image into copper coloured metal and then using TSS tools embossed the frame and the sentiment and using the ball and cup tool defined the rivets.   Viva Ferro spread over each end stamped into for texture, once the paste had hardened it was topped with Viva Craco in Copper.   Once again the paste was stamped into again using a Clarity sentiment 'Together we can handle anything'.

Your Children themed collection is probably a lot better then mine, the rest of the team certainly have, check their samples out at Dragon's Dream TIO.

Lazy Hazy Summer Day

Never happier than messing about with stamps and inks and stuff.   So creating this watercolour board hanging was an afternoon of pleasure.

Started with Cosmic Shimmer background spray.   Next stamping, Creative Expressions 'Button Florals' and DI, well the sentiment was stamped in memento but the rest stamped in DI.  The flower heads with loopy petals were filled with felt tip pens.   The Tando butterfly has been coloured with Adirondack dabbers, same dabbers used in flower centers.   A little altered glue underlines the sentiment.

Inks, paints, stamps and Tando all available at the Craft-Room if you are not sure where to find them.

Paper Creations Ink Guest Designer

A few weeks back much to my delight I was selected by Paper Creations Ink as both their spotlighted entry and asked to be a Guest Designer.   So thrilled and really happy to accept, the following two challenges which are opened on the first and third Monday every month, were both sponsored by digi stamp designers.   I'm not really into digi so the lovely Sara suggested waiting until today.   The sponsor this time is Cropstop a fabulous online shop for all sorts of crafter's materials.

The theme of the challenge is 'Show us your flowers'.   Your project can be any floral themed project you would like to share.

My sample is an Inkadinkado Pansy, a search online provided the flowers colours.  Love Pansy's there are so many colours but this mix with yellow inner petal out through shades of yellow to orange outer petals is very pretty.   The stamped and coloured image cut with a Nestie and then a little more yellow.    'Thinking of you ' sentiment stamped and die cut with TH tag a clear acrylic tag laid over the top after the die cut had been edged with more colour.   Papermaina silk flowers and gem topped brads balance the right hand side.

It is always fun to work with a floral theme so versatile, you probably have some great images in your collection be great if you join Paper Creations Ink this fortnight for their latest challenge.

Tando Challenge - Go Wild

Third Monday of August already!    Time to share my DT sample for this month's Tando challenge.   Have you been and seen it yet?   You do not have to use Tando Chippie or masks, you can make anything you fancy so long as it fits our theme of Go Wild!

For this wall plaque I used a 6" square Tando sheet, covered with some In My Minds Eye papers.   Tando cat and paw prints from Cat set, Cattitude is a word sold  on its own and the lion is from the Zoo set.    Dreamweaver leopard print stencil used for cat and word.   Lion and paws coloured with Promarkers and Sakura glitter pen.

Over to you now then we look forward to your joining us at the new Tando Creative Challenges.  Gotta be in it to win it and there are fabulous prizes, this month you do not even have to use Tando in your project!

I'm also sharing this with Make it Monday   -   Always anything goes

Ink

Just having a play this week-end after all the running around this week unwinding before starting all the sorting and clearing and taking the IMPs out in the car to see how they cope!

Become quite a fan of Less is More, it is usually not my style but fun to play around with!   This week they are stepping out of Mandi's comfort zone, or so she thought.   It is one layer week and the challenge is to use ink.

There are all sorts of inks available to play with and various techniques to mess around with.   For this card the image was stamped in Memento and then Windsor and Newton drawing inks dry brushed over.   First the brush is loaded with ink and then swiped off on a piece of scrap paper until almost dry, then it is dragged over the image.   While quite liking this think eventually it will be cut out with a Nestie and layered onto a plain white card.

Not entirely happy with the first one thought I'd use alcohol inks. This time the inks were dripped onto the blank card, which was open so that the colour did not mark the back.   Each colour was allowed to dry before the next was added, the wet ink of the next colour bleeds into the previous one but more as an overlay than a mix of colour.

Very little ink has been used colouring just a small section of card.   The image has been stamped in black Archival ink over the  colour and white card.

All good clean messy fun and no cleaning up after!

The Stamp Man - Anything goes with summer colours

Well the good news is my offer on a new house has been accepted.  Spent quite a bit of time on the telephone this morning getting things moving.   Now begins the task of sorting everything out here and seeing if there are things it is not necessary to take with me!   going to be busy, have also to take the IMPS out in the car to see how they might cope with the journey.

Still after all the excitement did manage to make a card my first in several days.   The Stamp Man challenge this fortnight is anything goes with Summer Colours.

Glossy card coloured with DI, rather than blend the colour it was at first dabbed on with makeup sponges and then smoothed out a little.   The stamp is from Aspects of Design Nautical set, the card was then cut with a nestie.   Green pearlised card makes up the next layer, the one below is orange card coloured with DI over Tim Holtz masks.   Three rows of green rick rac along the bottom and a sun charm top left.   I had intended to use blue but it just would not work so have used these hot colours instead.

Have a great week-end.

My book of Tando, Session 6

Returned home yesterday evening following a few days away.  Had a lovely time, thank you Sam and Martin.   Forgot to take my laptop with me so have not been able to get to visit you. Will catch up as much as over the week-end know I've missed loads and have to hope you will all understand if I don't get to comment on all of it.

Today at Tando Creative Online Classes we reach session 6!    It is so much fun making and sharing these pages with you and all your kind supportive comments are treasured, thank you.

Colouring this side of the Tando Sheet I used my brayer and two Big 'n Juicy pads.   On the reverse Promarkers, also used on the bird.   If you would like to know more please take a peek at the class and if you fancy it join in with us.

Just for Fun - Black and White

I'll be driving back home later today having had a great couple of days staying with Sam her partner Martin and their adorable dog Fraz.    This is also the second week of Sam's colour challenges at Just for Fun, for August.

This week the challenge is to use just Black and White.   Starting with a small canvas black Promarker marked the box edges leaving the face of the canvas white.   Some black mount board and a dreamweaver Stencil with their white crackle embossing paste forms the topper.   Just happened to have white tape with the black and white piping, the perfect hanging.

You know the best bit out our Just for Fun challenges? its seeing all the fantastic projects you share with us looking forward to seeing what you do with black and white.

It just so happens that Secret Crafter also have Black and White as their challenge this week.

Dragon's Dream Tag it on - Its a Horse's Life

Whoo my turn to suggest the dream this week at Dragon's Dream TIO.   We were a little quiet last week were you all out enjoying some sunshine?

The dream this week is an Equestrian one a celebration of one of our oldest and most amazing companions.   Consider Horse's are prey animals we humans are hunters.  With a keenly developed sense of self preservation, great naught to fast  acceleration and a very nervous disposition it is utterly amazing that these beautiful graceful beings allow us on their backs.   The classic hunter kill position is on the back.    Not only are we allowed to mount them, but we can control them to the extent of overcoming their flight instinct to ride into danger!

The stamp is an old Rubberdubberdo magnetic one found in a bargain box a couple of years ago.   The sense of power and grace in the sketch is magnificent did not think it needed much else.   Some DI blended over the tag, musical script and some German Scrap.   The raffia was fun to plait, reminded that I have never like plaiting Mane's and Tail's, but have taken a turn or two mucking out.

Will you join us at Dragon's Dream TIO this week with a horsey themed tag?

Craft-Room Challenge No 6 - White on White

Think it might have been mentioned the other day just how much I love White on White.   you can imagine my delight when Nikki selected it as this fortnight's challenge at Craft-Room Challenge.

This A4 card folded in half and then in quarters to give 4 panels inside.   Cutting across the folds gave 3 sections that when counter creased give added dimension, shape and interest.   White vellum embossed with a cuttlebug folder and used on end panels and bottom 2 counter sections.   Papermaina felt ribbon  glued on at the top over this.   Andy Skinner Bird and Butterfly stamped in Silver and then embossed with WOW powders in white.  Paper flowers added with white brads, clear gems dotted around for a little bling.   Not really visible in the in the picture are white embossed sentiments, 'Let what you love be what you do' and 'Think thoughts that make you happy.   The front of the card is also dressed in white with another butterfly stamped in Silver and then embossed with WOW pearl White.

You can join as with any sort of project you have in mind any/all white on white welcome at Craft-Room Challenge.

Allsorts and Less is More

After a quiet week-end at home have another card to share with you today.

Less is More looking at colours of your nation's flag and this time I've gone for the English cross of St. George the colours are of course Red and White.   Now I'm not a football fan but here on the south coast we have two teams whose colours are Red and White. The first is of course The Cherries or Bournemouth AFC who did not have the greatest start to the season.   The 2nd team is Southampton whose start to the season was a lot better.   Other South Coast teams are available.

Butterfly kisses Stamp on white card in red and cut out.    More white card for the first mat, the corners punched with a MS punch. Red card for the next mat all layered onto white card stock.   Just one self adhesive Gem for the tear drop.

Apologies to all the Limites not had time to visit you yet, hoping to later in the week but it is going to be a busy one.

Allsorts have opened their August Challenges this week with Red.

Less is More - Colour Challenge

Got to have a little inky play yesterday felt like an age, a lot of the things we shared last week had been made in advance we all do that don't we.

Every Saturday Chrissie and Mandi give us a new challenge and a new challenge so stamps inks and what ever else out, time to play.   This week the challenge is to use your nation's flag colours.   The thing with living on this island is that we English, Scottish, Walsh have our own national flags which have also been combined into another flag to signify the United Kingdom.   Being a bit of a mongrel I usually refer to myself at British rather than English.

The rose is a Penny Black brush mark image coloured this time with Whisper Pens in red and blue onto white card stock.  The little sentiment is also stamped in red.    The ribbon with the Union Jack on it came from a quilters shop in Chichester.   Local's like Chrissie and Mandi will know the shop I mean, so here then is my Red White and Blue entry for Less is More.

Thought I'd share this with the Tanda Teaser as well Sue has challenged us all to use Ribbon's and Bow's.  Tanda made the sentiment up for me a little while ago.

A little Thank you for Julia

Earlier this year I had the great fortune to meet Julia owner of Craft-Room on line shop.   It has been a lot of fun working with her and getting to know her.

A couple of months back Julia shared her heart break at letting her beloved Fritz, a long hair small dachshund, go to sleep.  It is always heart breaking when we have to let one of our furry family members go these little sweet hearts have such big personalities.

It is easy to understand Julia's decision to bring a young dachshund into the home, and it was clearly meant to be.  When she started looking she lucked upon a breeder whose family had just grown by 5 long haired small dachshunds.   And so after 7 weeks, 3 of which Julia spent in Spain, Rose has come to live with them.

That is just one of the adventure's we have shared.   So as a thank you I have made and sent this Bare Essentials frame to Julia.

Basic frame, with acrylic removed, sprayed with cosmic shimmer and then stamped with Tanda stamps from the dogs mini set.   Tando words sprayed with Peacock Cosmic Shimmer the Tando hearts painted with Viva precious metals bronze.    There is a little step by step posting in the guides section of http://www.craft-room.co.uk/

It would be nice to share this with Inspire me Friday's which is always Anything goes.

Shades of White

Thursday has rolled round again and it is now August so time for Sam to take the lead at Just for Fun!    Thank you all for your enthusiastic response to the July challenges just know you will enjoy August.

I loved this week's challenge Shades of White or white on white.   Lets face it this is all about layers and layers of texture and I love texture.  So this sample is a small canvas board, Dreamweaver stencil and pearlised embossing paste.   Not so very long ago one of our lovely Just for Fun family Donna sent me some die cut 'clearly for art'.   The flower shapes have been stamped with white ink and heated with a hot air gun to reshape them.  Silicone glue holds them in place on the canvas with a flat back white pearl in the center.  Just for Marie this layered flower has been carefully placed top right.

Next Pearl colour coated Metal cut with the sizzix flourish and then coated with more embossing paste this time the crackle one.   More  die cutting, one of the slim sizzix dies cutting white vellum flowers.   Just to make sure there is enough white layers and texture a strand of white fibre has been twisted into the metal die cut.

So hope you will be as enthusiastic as I am about this one and share your shades of white with us after all it is Just for Fun.

Dragon's Dream Tag it on - Natures Bounty

It is a constant surprise at the stunning quality of our crafting community, take last weeks Dragon's Dream embossing challenge beautiful work.

This week Wanda has had a wonderful dream that she would love us to share with her.   Height of summer, the hedge rows are bursting with fruit and berries.   If you are a gardener you will be relishing all those lovely super fresh vegetables and fruit.   It is not just food but the abundance of flowers and nectar relishing garden visitors.    This years hatching of chicks have fledged and flown, the spring lambs are looking good as well.   This is the time of plenty, the dream of Natures Bounty.

Can you tell I like this week's challenge?    My buff tag was stamped with Personal Impressions berries and butterfly image, which was then masked.   Stormy Sky DI and then stamped with a now retired SU image of swallows playing in a warm breeze.    The main image, unmasked, has been coloured with Promarkers.    The image stamped again onto gold coloured vellum and the butterfly  cut out to flutter onto the top.

Do you have a dream about Nature's bounty to share with us certainly hope so and looking forward to seeing it over at Dragon's Dream TIO.

First Christmas card 2011

We have a little tutorial over at Just for Fun looking at using Dreamweaver Embossing paste and stencils.   This is the first card I made as an example.   I'll not bore you with the how to here, if you are interested please pop over to Just for Fun.

Having completed the sample decided it made a very elegant card that does not need further embellishment.  So I've started the annual Christmas card collection.

Christmas challenges live at the moment to share this with:

ABC Christmas   -   O for old your image must be more than 1 year old.

And just a little cheeky Moving along with the Times - theme is brand spanking new first card in my new 2011 Christmas collection!

Terrific new Tando Challenge.

1st of August first day of several monthly challenges and a new one join's their ranks today with the start of Tando Creative Challenge.     To find out what you could win and what you have to do to win it you'll have to visit the challenge site.

I can tell you our first theme is Go Wild and you can make anything you want.   Go Wild does not need to be wild animals, it can be wild paper or paint or weather, and you do not need to use any Tando products.   My DT piece will be reveled later in the month all the team have made samples so rather than show them all today we will be sharing with you over the coming weeks of August.   I can show you some of the sets used on my piece!
