Well this stamp always looked like Izhe to me!

This is one of my favourite pictures of Izhe, you will have seen it here before.   Not only is it typical of him to be in the middle of my crafting supplies but the expression of ME is his most common one.   When the IMPs first came to live with me, 6 years ago! I purchased 3 stamps the reflected something about each of the then kittens.

So updating one of those lists I was intrigued by Ooh La La Creations challenge of Faithful Friends.   Hence this little card.

Utterly Izhe I can just picture him in this situation, just waiting for the staff to come and sort it all out.

Stamp by Stamps Happen Inc, coloured with Docrafts pens.

Craft-Room Challenge, Romance and Roses

The dance is over and now Hazel has to select her top three, good luck with that Hazel, it will not be easy.   Now it is Debi's turn to select the theme at Craft-Room Challenge, and Crafty Individuals have joined us again as sponsor.

Debi's theme is Romance and Roses, she says "Ok so I'm declaring that actually I'm a hopeless romantic, so please share with me lots of roses and romance. I love roses and I think they embody all thats romantic about Love.  Please don't be shy, lets some over the top Roses and Romance."

I'm inclined to agree with you Debi, Roses stand for all things romantic.   Recently a colleague got married, this is the card I made for her.    A torn piece of DP stuck to a card blank and rolled up from the bottom.   Over this a Mackintosh style mask used with embossing paste provides the first rose.   Another Mask was used to get the randomly placed love hearts, well this is romantic feast of a card.   Two PSX style stamps used repeatedly and then fussy cutout old style 3D decoupage after the images were coloured with ProMarkers.    Before fixing them into place a heart die cut with the same DP and flowers from each piece threaded through to make a linked piece.    Finally the word Congratulations which is shop brought die cut chipboard.

These are all the layers on the card.

Hoping to inspire you to join our challenge I would also like to share this card with:

You know I like tags don't you?

This one was inspired last evening when I was updating the Challenges for Days Wednesday List.   One of the pleasures of maintaining these lists is seeing the variety of challenge, styles, and themes that the wonderful community of crafters share.

Inspiration fired up the tag was cut using an old clocking in card.   Stamped with Andy Skinner stamps that refer to flying and world travel.   The clocks are a Kaiser Craft stamp, I used their keys stamp on two pieces of vellum which were attached with a grommet and then rolled up from the bottom.   Vellum die cut wings embossed and glued with silicon just at the base.  Some Washi tape holds the rolled vellum up metal wings and a key added on top.   ProMarkers were used to colour parts of the globe and the seconds dials on the clock/watch faces.

Yesterday I brought myself a pair of new slippers

They came on this rather interesting hanger.   I've collected one or two of these hangers with the intention of re-cycling/altering them.   This one this morning met glue, card, paste and other things.

A piece of card embossed in a Couture Creations embossing folder.   The result was then carefully cut out and coloured with ProMarkers.   I rather like the effect of Twilight blue and the Orchid which was run over the raised areas.

Both card and vellum cut with the Sizzix wings die and the TH tattered florals.   The Vellum has been stamped with Stayzon.   The card wings attached to the wings of the hanger, the matching vellum ones overlaid with a glue dot at the top.    Viva Terra paste spread over the body of the hanger, the label & the hook.   Once that had gone off on the surface Turquoise crackle paste  was spread over it.    The main image pressed into the still wet pastes to attach it to the hanger.

The Vellum flowers were assembled after being touched with the crackle paste.   To make the vellum curl the flowers were sprayed with white Dylusion paint and attached to the piece.

So I thought I'd share this now with one or two challenges.

Craft-Room Dance

We had a lot of fun over the last couple of weeks with our Humour Challenge, thank you all we had a lot of fun visiting you all.

Now it is the turn of Hazel to be our hostess at Craft-Room Challenge.    Hazel's theme is Dance, another terrific theme I'm sure you will agree.

Our generous sponsor for this challenge is Tando Creative.   We do not take our sponsors for granted and are extremely grateful to them all for generously providing prizes.   You will get an idea of the vast range of goodies Tando make on their blog.

For the Challenge I decorated a small box.    First it was given a coat of white Gesso, then with the help of Modge Podge tissue printed with a music score covered the whole box.   The dancer and ballet shoes were stamped onto white card in Lilic DI for the shoes black for the dancer and clear embossed.   ProMarkers used to colour the images which were then glued to the box along with some little metal charms.     Multi coloured ribbon added to the lid in pleats finish off this pretty little trinket box.

We hope you will join us and out Dance theme.

Cannot resist WOW

I just wish my photography skills were better and could show the details more clearly.    This tag has been stamped and embossed with white EP with a blossom stamp.    A Crafters Workshop stencil/mask laid over other areas for the tag and the flames design picked out with white Fresko paint.    Now you understand my photography comment you will struggle to see these layers but they are there.

A Tattered Lace die, one of their early ones when the only place you could get them was Hobby Craft! It is a pair of Owls but I've only used Mrs. here.   Cut in while vellum and glued just at the brow and tail.   A very fancy piece of beaded braid ribbon provides the owls perch and another piece of ribbon covered with paper and vellum flowers draped down the side.

The Sisterhood of Crafters inspired the WOW theme for this tag, with their White on White challenge.
Seize the Birthday also have a White on White theme.
Tag along, have a theme of Flowers
Crafty Ribbons also have a floral theme with Flower Power.
Finally this time Fashionable Stamping whose current theme is favourite technique, WOW is certainly one of mine.

Not as easy as expected!

Happy to own up that I found this a challenge.   It is this weeks Less is More challenge, a One Layer card with Shadow Stamping.    One Layer, not a problem, Shadow Stamping not a problem.    CAS Shadow Stamping that is tough.    First 2 attempts spoilt by a) dropping an ink pad inky side down onto the card, & b) catching the edge of the acrylic block with ink and transferring that in the stamping process.

I used a Special Touch Mask (with the ink dusters) Adirondack dye based ink and DI.   The stamps are old Elusive Images stamps stamped and re-stamped.   The little touches of colouring were done with Whisper Pens.

I've noticed that people are leaving copy and paste comments that do not correspond to my projects, and often do show that the writer has not read my post at all.   I'm happy to share and hope that at least sometimes I offer something a little different but I don't do this for numbers of visitors and or comments.   When visiting other people be it DT 'duty' or otherwise my comments are always personal and I really look for something in the post to refer to.    Of course if you are using the copy and paste method you will not have read this, but for the benefit of everyone else take a moment to look at the comments (if there are any after this) you'll see what I mean.   Big Smile.

A little Fantasy

I've made a card!   It didn't set out to be a card, I'm not sure it set out to be anything at all really.   The card blank with some DP attached has been on my table for a few weeks.    The base tag was stamped a couple of weeks ago and then left on the table.    At the week-end overcome with the desire to get inky and with a few random thoughts running through my head I started playing.   and then it all got set aside with no clear idea of how it would be completed.    This evening the now group of 3 tags and the card were joined, the final element only decided on today as the flowers.   The Tando Creative key was something else moving and floating around and on my desk for quite a while.

So then what have I done?    base tag stamped with an Elusive Images paisley peacock design.   Adirondack inks was added with ink dusters.   Some of the stamped designed picked out with a quirky glue pen and gilding flakes added.    A sizzix bigz die provided the two smaller tags, both of which were stamped with Rogue Redhead Designs.   The images were coloured with ProMarkers, the backgrounds were created using ProMarkers and the Blender pen giving a softened, dappled effect.    Little green bows were tied and added to the smaller tags.    More of the green ribbon threaded through some lacy ribbon and also tied into a bow.

Having faffed for days some paper flowers from my stash sprang to mind, the blues were perfect the 'orchid' ones re-coloured with ProMarkers.

Updating the Challenges for Days list brings all sorts of challenges to my attention and some of these were running through my mind during the last few days.

Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge - Flower Power
Frilly and Funkie - Flights of Fancy
The Cheerful Stamp Pad - Add some flowers
Fashionable Stamping - Favourite Technique, I'm not sure I have one of these but first and foremost I'm a stamper using rubber stamps (not polymer) for preference.   After that I enjoy using tags, am a great fan of Tando and Promarkers.   My inkyliclious dusters live on my table, over and above all this I try to do something different in both style and execution; I think this counts.

Practicing

'Fraid I've not been around much this week, not been 100% so I've been keeping my head down as you do.        Been at home actually not doing very much at all…… I'll live.

You know I'm loving tags at the moment right?    That ProMarkers are often my colouring medium of choice?   That I quite like one layer work?   Did you know that I like Tattoo Art?   Well you do now :-)

The stamp here is a new one from Bombshell Stamps, now I must apologise to the girls there for adding my own doodling to the tag, just could not resist having a good but those waves are not as easy as they look are they?

Craft-Room Challenge - Humour

It's April 1st AKA April Fools Day, cannot find an exact origin for the tradition but it seems in one form or another to be world wide and 1st April is the most common day for it.    Certainly whatever the beginning of the tradition it is a great day for pranksters.

Mervi is our hostess this time, at Craft-Room Challenge, and she thought nothing else would do but to have a little fun and challenge you with the theme of Humour.    We are sponsored this time by The Stamp Man who are offering one randomly drawn winner £10 to spend at their online shop.

Well this theme certainly got us talking seems we all love the idea, good one Mervi, but some of us had to dig deep to find stamps suitable!   Looking at the finished samples you'll see that everyone found something to use and the results are brilliant.   For my sample a little digging was needed and all the stamps are from different manufactures I'll leave it for you to decide who is getting which present and just say I'm really pleased with how the colouring worked out.   Over to you now.
