Recycle a bowl

Summer is clearly here, wall to wall blue skies and it is getting hotter.  I'm staying in out of the sun gets to hot for me.   It has also been one of those days when I didn't feel like doing much.  The bike is fixed now and I went for a ride last evening as my shins can confirm, still might go out again this evening when it is cooler.

For now I'm sharing todays recycling project with you.

At the Lincolnshire show in the WI tent a craft entry caught my eye and it has directly influenced this upcycle.   The bowl is yet another item I have saved to just this project.  OK so when I saved it there was no clear plan in mind but it was just to good to chuck in the bin.

Please do not ask me what it contained in the first place because I have no idea.   Now I want something to put potpourri in this might just do the job.   The rose image is either a PSX stamp or a more recent inkadinkado in the same style.  Stamped it and then used a die to cut it out in the square for the base of the bowl.   The flowers have been coloured with Chameleon Pens, just 3 pens were used a yellow one, a pink one and a green one.

The box I saw at the show had been decorated on the outside with cord wrapped in pattens.   I used the idea here to decorate the inside of the bowl.  Thought the sloop on the outside would be harder to decorate in this way.   I wanted to spray it with iridescent spray but it had gone off in the can and spurted rather than sprayed.   That worked out as the fluid settled in droplets which once dry look like little sparkly jewels.

A silk flower and some sticky back gems on the rim.  Now I have a useful little bowl for Potpourri or anything else I choose to put in it.

Here are the challenges I've decided to share it with.

Creative Moments - It's the second week of this challenge cycle don't know how I missed it last post. Always anything goes and this time there is no twist.

More Mixed Media - You will know by now that I love these monthly Anything Goes mixed media projects.   At this one the optional twist this time is Purple, but I've not used any of that colour here!

Stamping Sensations -  This monthly challenge is mostly entered by people making cards but I'm hoping as this is an Anything Goes month by recycled bowl will be allowed.

Thank it is almost time for tea now.
