Sometimes you just have to

Sometimes you come across a challenge that you just have to have a go at.  I came across 3 at the week-end.  1 Allsorts is on the Saturday list, 2 Fashionable Stamping I had thought was on its 2nd week until one of the team published and i saw her fab piece. 3 Vintage Artisans is a new challenge that I stumbled upon.

Allsorts challenges us to take inspiration from the challenge pieces that Brenda sent to all the DT.   The items included a clock die cut and also bird and bird cage die cuts.   Lots of other things as well but those stuck in my mind.

Fashionable Stamping, always look for rubber stamping.   This fortnight their challenge is to get Messy and Inky.

Vintage Artisans, a fortnightly challenge this is their second one with a theme of Vintage Steampunk.

So inspired, messy and inky steampunk it is!   Steampunk always puts me in mind of machinery replacing  flesh and blood, maybe with some secret surprise tucked up their sleeve.   The background is a TH clock mask coloured over with ink dusters, then the street light stamped, the Lady the Bird and finally two cog stamps.   Colouring involved ProMarkers and Whisper Pens, glue pen followed some of the stamped designs then shabby pink embossing powder sprinkled over.   Finally DI in walnut stain brushed around the edges.

Well that was my Monday evening, what did you do with yours?

  9. You've done it again Zoe, this is a stunning piece of artwork. I love the way you've combined the inspiration from the 3 challenges to create such a unique project. The cogs and gears look amazing and reflect the roses around the lamp post like a steampunk garden. Thanks for joining us at FSC this time
