Sometimes you have just gotta

And this little project was just one such!

I've had this wooden panel waiting to be used for a while, seems I have a lot of those sorts of things and the mountain grows is it a compulsion?

Then of course there are challenges that trigger creativity.   The first of these is Suger Creek Hollow, a new theme of Water Water, Everywhere was posted yesterday.   The Ancient Mariner we studied that at school a very bleak story not sure we got to the end.  Suger Creek Hollow is a vintage style challenge, I never seem to get it quite right and this is no exception but hay thats the point of a challenge to make you try, yes?   The other challenge is Fashionable Stamping and their challenge posted today is Scrip/Books/Pages/ Print  ummm somehow the three fused into the this.

There are of course other challenges, more abut them later, first though what I did.

In the close up you can see some of the magazine print below the image and the gesso.

First the script, pages of a magazine torn out and given a white gesso wash.    Some textured card embossed with a new deep impression folder and trimmed to fit the base of the panel.     A sheet of the gessoed magazine page adhered to the outer frame and sectioned to go down the inside of the sides,  the embossed panel laid over and some washi tape stuck round the inside.   Various stamps in shades of blue and brown/sepia tones stamped onto the top of the sides, and in butterscotch on the outer sides.

Some more of the magazine pages stuck to card making it stiffer and easier to use.    This was stamped with the Kanban lighthouse and the Crafty Individuals bather.    The lighthouse scene coloured with Whisper Pens.   A cream coloured button with fibers threaded through the holes stuck to the top.   Some shells added and a little glass bottle with some green Glimmer Mist in it.    The same glimmer mist was sprayed over the bottom part of the frame and then over stamped before the various embellishments were added.    The fish and the rope came from an old potpourri sea breeze set from which the scent has long since faded.

Now for those other challenge
