August! The UK schools have all broken up for their long summer break and the holiday season is now well underway. I don't think we will have a full compliment in the office now until nearly the end of September! So if you are a parent with Children at home for the summer you might not have so much time for crafting, not to worry we will all still be here when you get your life back!
For the rest of us the routine goes on doing what ever it is we do. For me that means getting inky.
New Reader Art Quests opened today at Unruly PaperArts. The overall theme this month is 'Take a Powder' Whoopi thought I EP and lots of it, now what can I do that is a little different. I do not have a house number on my door so thought I'd make myself some, all they need now is weather proofing.
Two paper formed numbers painted yellow and green (oh you can see that) then still playing with EP and paste pushed through stencils. Using Andy Skinner stencils (Masks) I love with these that the stencil over hung the base causing the paste to go through and then drip down the sides of the number. EP sprinkled over wet paste and some of that also attached to the drips. Usual routine wait for the paste to go off before melting the ep. Clocks stamped and black ep used, touches of paint used to highlight areas of the raised images. For now these hang on the wall where they seem to make people smile.
So there you have RAQ 1 'Use an Embossing Powder'. RAQ 2 is Chalk. I you fancy either or both please join in.
Some challenges I'm joining with are:
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
Rhedd and Rosie - Time
The Stamping Chef - Anything but a Card
Through the Craft-Room Door - Always anything goes
