Craft-Room - Ribbons and Lace

Goodness what a frightful time people are having since December the weather around the world has  been making a nightmare of peoples lives.   I'm sure those people are not reading this they have far more important matters to be getting on with.   Even so my thoughts are with them as I'm sure are yours.

Oh yes New Zealand is still shaking as often as the tectonic plates can manage to make it.   In a few million years those mountains will be worth a visit.

Back to matters closer to home!   This week at Craft-Room it is time for Annie's  first challenge, and she has chosen a great one, Ribbon and Lace.

Our sponsor for the challenge is once again the generous Crafty Individuals.

You will used by now to my looking for a different approach to a challenge.   This one offered an opportunity to use another of the calendar holders I rescued from work at the end of last year, see picture above.

This is what I came up with.    Alcohol Inks applied over the outside of the case.   This has been covered with vellum attached using Washi Tape.    A new to me Cherry Lynn heart shaped die used to cut more vellum and this was stuck to the plastic case with glitter embossing paste.

Ribbon Lace cut into strips and folded to make 3 ribbon flowers secured with split pins.   These have been glued to the case with contact glue.    Crafty Individuals fashion ladies stamped onto card, one model cut out and coloured with ProMarkers.   The sentiment is also a Crafty Individuals stamp.   By the Way the Red flower in the centre is made of white ribbon lace coloured red with Glimmer Mists.

Unfortunately the pearl topped brads make the design to dimensional to close the case but as this is designed to be displayed it's not really a problem.   I photographed it in front of the window to show off the pretty effect of the Alcohol Inks.

Of course there are challenge's I'd like to share this with:
Pumpkin Spice - Colours Red, Pink & White
