Craft-Room Challenge - Make your own background, no DP

This is the new challenge at Craft-Room Challenge set by our wonderful Mervi.   We had a great response to our colour theme over the last fortnight but peeps are still not making sure they know the rules!   We have a simple solution, we are not commenting on their posts.  Not all that effective but it saves us time and has the added bonus of reducing the frustration levels!

Mervi's turn now then, a great opportunity and excuse to get as messy as you want.   This pink, what is it with me and pink at the moment? and yellow background is the result of mixing distress paint with a geli pad.    First poured was some of the yellow onto the geli pad spread around with a brayer.   The card used was scrap with a stamped image and the heat embossed sentiment.   The yellow was allowed to dry while other bits of card were also pressed onto the pad.   Next, for this card, the Pickled Raspberry Pink, applied in the same way.   The result was a bright pink piece of card with speckles of yellow.   Finally Picket Post Distress Stain pushed across the card and then wiped off with a baby wipe.   Through all this paint the greeting stands out more and more.

The butterfly and the patten boarder at the bottom are old Elusive Images stamps, a bright cartoon butterfly seemed a great topper for the card.    A little bling and the card cut down to fit on top of a silver edged black card blank.    Think this will be for a girly birthday.
