Glorious Bank Holiday week-end, and it aint over yet.

Here on the Humber the weather the last few days have been glorious.   Been quite a full on week as well, sending Bob off onto his next success;  reclaiming the house, well starting to at least there is still a lot of Bob's stuff to be packed away.

I've also been working on the garden for a couple of months now.  For one reason and another I've not  really tackled it before but this year I'm going to claim it.  Just about got it back to it's base now ready for what ever I decide to plant.   Far to embarrassed to take any before pictures, it looked something like my neighbours now.

To much time in the sun is a serious no no for me, my skin burns and I end up feeling very ill.  So as the day heats up I retreat to the craft room, just behind the patio doors.  My right arm has been strained for a couple of weeks now which rules out chainmaille, and small repetitive movements such as bead knotting so no jewellery for now.

Messy inky arty stuff on the other hand is just fine.  Didn't want to make a card.  Wanted to do something different it's the exploration of techniques and styles that appeals to.   There were 3 arches and one frame left from a Tando set, they had been gessoed previously and I decided to use them this time.

Start then with these 4 pieces of chipboard.   Time to ferret around in my stash for stamps that would fit.   Penny Black brush strokes are firm favourites of mine and we are just entering Strawberry season!   The stamp was inked with Whisper felt pens and pressed onto the chipboard.   Loved the water colour effect that resulted but it felt flat.   Re-inked that stamp and used it on white card.  Now this type of image is not really designed for fussy cutting but that is what I attempted to do.   The rest of the white arch was dusted with a previously used Inkylicious duster that had not had all the ink worked off.   This gave the edges a lovely sort of pastel turquoise/teal shade.  The second stamping was added with dollop of silicon glue at the bottom.  To celebrate the summer feel a little smiling sun charm has been attached near the top.

The frame needed some patten to compliment the arch, out came my tapestry stamps, lots of little leaves, flowers and butterflies stamped all over it.

Side one complete the other side demanded to be done.   The arch for this piece was fitted inside the frame and stamped with the Clarity stamps bird.  This went onto the frame but as both pieces were stamped together they were a perfect match.   The bird has been coloured with Chameleon Pens.   Again the bird was stamped a second time on card, coloured and fussy cut.  Adirondak inks dusted over the arch and frame this time.   Second bird attached with silicone along the length of the birds body.    The Clarity blossom branch stamped over the frame this time.

A third arch sandwich between the two decorated ones and fitted into the frame.   Now to find a way of making this little piece of home decor stand up alone.   Tucked away in my stash this empty spool, a little D frame saw and some files created a channel to fit the arch into.   Just to make sure everything stays in place a little more silicon glue holds everything in place.

This was so much fun to make it is very rewarding.  Hopefully these other people will enjoy it as well.
