Before Brunch

The chef, aka son is cooking brunch for us so I'm just stopping by with a little make I did yesterday.

There were a couple of challenges in mind when I made this (well 3 actually) Allsorts where this weeks prompt is Embossing wet or dry.

A piece of tracing paper/vellum and a Poppy stencil.  Old school embossing with various sized ball headed tools worked over the paper following the design of the stencil below.  The idea is not to use pressure but to just trace round the design repeatedly.

Stamping Sensations want us to make it colourful this month.  Using coloured pencils the de-bossed areas on what is not the front were coloured.  Various Greens, Browns, Oranges, Yellows and Blues were used in a cross hatch style to suggest sky, trees and fields in the background.  Flipped it over and  on the back stroked more brown into the tree trunks and branches.

The third on is Penny Black and More who want to see our favourite stamp.  After decades of paper crafting and collecting rubber stamps it is impossible to have just one.  However having decided to add some embellishments to my card my favourite butterfly stamp came out it is the largest of the three you see here.  Stamped onto more of the vellum and then fussy cut, all 3 butterflies are attached by silicon glue along their "body".

Note for Brenda, thought I'd do all 3 challenges in one making it easier for you to comment! hahaha

Well the smells from the kitchen are getting very tempting must be time to eat, then as it is pouring down here playtime in the craft room.

  4. This is so pretty and great embossing using the old school tools! Still have a stylus somewhere in my stash and even some old embossing plates but it's been a long time since I used those tools. A gorgeous butterfly stamp too, definitely one to consider a favorite, I agree it's so hard to choose just one after many years of stamping.
Thank you so much for joining in at Penny Black and More challenge!
