So yesterday here in England non essential shops were allowed to reopen long queues were reported as people went out to look at something different. Were you among them? I wasn't, even if the shops were not full in the old sense, so no pushing and shoving but lots of temptation to buy things that are not really necessary. That is to say things not art and craft related hahaha.
So I stayed home and completed another project. This is the third wooden coat hanger that I have made over and at one point it looked like it was not going to be a successful piece. I'll let your decide for yourselves if it has worked or not.

The Green Man or Foliage Man as he was known before being given the name we know is a being of myth and legend. He is often depicted in Old Churches and Cathedrals and it is thought his inclusion was a bridge from Paganism to Christianity. It is the sense of a closer connection to nature that appeals to me.
The hanger than, the hanger was wrapped in cotton lace which was then coated with the last of a bottle of Ivory Powertex. 2 wider pieces of cotton lace hang over the shoulders of the hanger and a cotton doily were added and another piece of cotton lace (the last of it) stretched over from one arm to the other, all coated with the powertex. Everything left to start to dry.
A resin cast of the Green Man painted with acrylic paints, 2 shades of green and burnt orange for his lips and eyes. I used silicon glue to stick this to the hanging lace and doily. For the leaves I blended various shades of green and tans onto the reverse of some cream linen card stock, the inks were heat set. The leaf stamps came from an old Creative Expressions set inked in green and browns then fussy cut. The green ribbon around the hook is some saved from some when I only know this because there is a piece of hook and loop at each end. The finishing touch was gold colour mica powder suspended in a light varnish then dry brushed on.
