And it's the weekend

As the rhythms of my life settle back down the days flow past with something new or different every day.   This weeks new that fabulous mask I used a couple of days ago.  Realising that my Granddaughter has become an adult, our telephone conversations no longer revolve around the latest row with either her mother or her boy friend but rather about cleaning products!  Her partner and her recently moved into their own place (hence no more rows with her mother - ever I hope) and my messy untidy "I'm going to have a cleaner" girl has turned into someone who rings me when she is in the cleaning product isle at the super market and then tells me about everything they are selling hahaha

I do delight in living alone it suits me and after 40+ years you could say I am rather set in my ways.   It is of course wonderful to have friends and family but certainly not all the time.

Of course this week has seen me in the craft room again, will I ever again play with jump rings and gemstones to make jewellery?  Probably but not just now.

The current Twofers Challenge is #29 Butterflies, out came my favourite Butterfly stamp.

This Butterfly stamp must be 15 years old now if it is a day.  It was made in grey rubber by a British company Hobby Arts and reminds me of the pretty Cabbage Butterflies Miss Minx and I like so much.

For the first card I used a piece of hand coloured card made a long time ago, so long ago I cannot recall what I did to it.   The posy stamp on the topper is from Penny Black and coloured with ProMarkers,  the edges dusted with DI.  The flowers are some very old Prima flowers that were just right for this project.    All I have to do now is make a box to send it in.

Challenges:
DL Art Thankful Thursdays - #263 Summertime (fortnightly)
Allsorts - #581/582 Flowers all over (weekly, but this one is running for 2 weeks)
Creative Inspirations - In the Garden (monthly)
Penny Black and More - In the Garden (monthly)

There are a lot of similarity between this card and the previous one, not least the butterfly but also; base card stock both cream linen card and the double die cut topper which is also hand coloured.   This one was blasted with sprays for a dramatic effect.   Cannot recall where the "Just a note" stamp came from but doesn't it look just stamped and left alone.

Challenges:
613 Avenue - #235 Focus on the Sentiment (monthly)
Cut it Up - #204 Create your own background paper (fortnightly)

Now because we are going to have to wear masks to go to the shops I decided to practice yesterday.

As restrictions ease and we start to socialise more I can see the sense in mandatory use of masks.  With increased interactions the probability of increased infection rates goes up, masks serve as some protection and also as a reminder that the virus is still very much around and a danger to us.  My hair appointment is not until the 31st! and yesterday was a good hair day hahaha

Stay safe, Keep well and HAVE FUN

  2. Hi Zoe! Many thanks for the link to the toy! It isn't quite the same but I do appreciate the link and have sent it to Marion just in case she wishes to follow it up. What a star you are! Love, Di x Oh, and I do like the mask. You're lucky to be a wearer of specs to be honest, I wore one when I went out the other day - and it poked me in the eye

  5. Your first butterfly has found a lovely, feminine place to pose on your first card, Zoe ... those stamped blooms are so eyecatching ... and the addition of the prima flowers adds such great dimension! What drama you created with the sprayed panel and frame on your second card ... that delicate butterfly really pops against it! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Anita :)

  7. That is such a lovely butterfly image to use for your twofer cards! Both of your cards have great shaped die cuts that give so much interest to your cards. I love the flowers that balance the butterfly on your first card, and the dramatic look of the sprays mixed together on your "Note" card. Thanks for joining in the fun with us at the Twofer Card Challenge!

  8. I can see why that butterfly stamp is a keeper. It's so pretty and can be added to any number of projects. The background you created is really nice, too. It reminds me of a night sky with Northern Lights!
