It is all about mixing and matching

Well I am getting fed up with this summer!  I want to cut the grass but either it is raining or it looks like it is going to rain.  Not that I mind the rain, long hot days are less appealing to me but the grass needs cutting in the section left for the bees you can no longer see Harley's legs when he stands there.  Admittedly he does have short munchkin like legs.  If I abandon this post half way you will know why, but not to worry because I will get back to it and finish it before publishing hahaha.

I love Poppies, might have said this before, so any time I see a Poppy stamp, stencil, or other poppy decorated things like my coffee mugs, my china set, oh anything poppy I HAVE to have it.  Poppies and Green if you have these in your life you are blessed.

Yes before you ask the wall is cream coloured not white.  The pallet set came from Stamps Away you can lay them out and orientate them how ever you want.  This time I chose to spread them out a little bit.

Wooden pieces given a coat of white gesso.  Then with all the boards touching a Poppy themed stencil placed over the top, blue Acrylic pain dabbed through.  The gesso was not quite dry every where despite being heated, the result is this fantastic slightly weathered, slightly textured look.  The boards were then separated and attached to the struts holding everything together.   The Poppies are from Woodware and each was stamped 3 times in Lightening Black.  I adore this ink it is a soft golden black, unlike any other.   The poppies were coloured with ProMarkers and fussy cut, each set was then glued together the flower heads only glued at the base allowing them to stand out.

The bird is from Penny Black and is also stamped with Lightening Black.  A Magenta stamp provided the bee which was stamped and coloured twice, each bee fussy cut and added.  Now I turned back to the boards with 3 shades of green DI, Peeled Paint, Shabby Shutter and Mown Grass, the Top board treated the same way with Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed.  Macrame thread threaded through the predrilled holes and the tassel from a stand of gem stones added at the bottom.

Finally the all important quote from Charles Dickens.  This is a Creative Expression stamp in Teal Green Memento ink on white card.  The yellow used on the top board has been swiped over the surface to knock the white back and enhance the green.  Edges rounded this piece is attached by some Acetate.
Had a few challenges in mind for this:
Allsorts - Summertime (weekly)
613 Avenue - Sentiment is the Focus, thank you to the team for their response to my entries last challenge. (fortnightly)
Penny Black and More - In the Garden (monthly)
Mixed Media Academy - Keep Close to Nature's Heart. (monthly)
and a new one to me Mixed Media Place - Green Moodboard (monthly)
Right I might just be able to get the green stuff down to size, wish me luck.  For now Stay Safe, Keep Well & HAVE FUN.
