Mixed Media in Yellow

I've always thought of Mixed Media as any artistic project using 2 or more "painting" media i.e. pastel chalks and acrylic paints, or pencils and watercolours.  Looking around Blog land there are so many examples of Mixed Media that seem to encompass more than just "paint" that I looked for a definition.  This is what I found on Wikipedia.

In visual artmixed media is an artwork in which more than one medium or material has been employed.[1][2] Assemblages and collages are two common examples of art using different media that will make use of different materials including clothpaperwood and found objects.[citation needed]

Mixed media art, a visual art, is distinguished from multimedia art which combines visual art with non-visual elements, such as recorded sound, literature, drama, dance, motion graphics, music, or interactivity.[3][4]

Which means that my Triptych more than qualifies.

All together it took about a week to complete this including drying time.  The Box Canvases were painted with Acrylic paint and Glimmer mists.   Various things have been added, paper, wood, Chipboard.  More paint, Die cut Butterflies and lots of texture paste, & some stamping.  Finally metal wire coiled and attached to represent steam coming out of the pipes.  The daft thing with the coils is that because I wear a fitbit on my right wrist and am right handed turning the handle of the gizmo to create the coils caused my fitbit to add approx. 1200 steps to my daily total!

It has only been this summer that yellow has started to stand out to me as a distinct main "statement" colour and it was fun using it as the primary colour here.  The three pieces are on the wall going up the stairs, it was not possible to capture of picture of them in situ and all together
