Halloween Tag

It has been in my mind for a few days to do another tag, they are a fun format.  It is also the Halloween time of year, a time when some cultures remember their dead and celebrate them all over again.  Something that seems to be missing in the modern western culture, we appear to have forgotten that our elders have accumulated a wealth of knowledge while our youngsters are all busy chasing around and burning themselves out in the pursuit of money status and power.

So in tribute to our elders (after all I am one now hehehe) I made a halloween tag.

A piece of packaging provided the base which was painted with Imagination Crafts Starlight paints.   The same paint used to coat the paper flowers it did not matter if some of the original colours showed as they were mainly orange, purple and green.   Next the skull stencil by Andy Skinner from Tando, I like skulls they house us while we are alive and tell archaeologists so much about us hundreds of years later.   I learnt recently that there is an ear bone inside the skull that is the choice place to extract DNA if possible as there it is less likely to be contaminated then other parts of the remains.  Back to this skull stencil, I used more Imagination Crafts paint this time in green for this.

Now came the moon, had to mix my own orange and lay it on quite thickly to cover the purple below.  The shape provided by the inner of a DST reel.  the shape of the skull fully imagined and painted around.  The witch riding her broom is another Tando stencil once again the paint had to be applied thickly.  Clever women witches they were probably the physiologists of their day, people watchers who had observed more than most about human nature.  That combined with their understanding of natural herbal remedies might well have made them appear fearful to men who were insecure and jealous of their positions.

Some black lace, orange gems, green gem split pins and ribbons in three of the halloween colours orange, green and purple complete my tag.

So who did I think might like this little bit of frivolous fun?
