So lockdown has eased again and there were queues for Primark! Some businesses even opened at Midnight because technically it was the 12th. It seems that for some folks the need for caution has passed and they have gone rushing out. I'm going to wait until about 4 pm before I complete the little job in Boots today hoping that by then the rush will be over and I will be able to find somewhere to park and have space to move around in hahaha.
So while I wait here is a piece that took some time yesterday but that I am very happy with.
A5 size card, roughly 21cm x 14.5cm. Started with a baryered section down the middle using Big and Juicy "Soothing Sunset". These ink pads are not available anymore but fortunately mine have remained juicy without to much colour merging, here I used the yellow to pink end of the pad. My first attempt at this went badly and so I washed the brayer then dried it on some kitchen paper. It was not entirely dry when used again so in places the ink sort of water spolged (bottom right) adding to the overall effect.
Next an ARTplorations stencil (Honeycomb Delight) placed over the top and side then Mustard Seed DI dusted over it. My favourite Bee Stamp, the Magenta one, stamped in alcohol proof ink, in face all the stamping is in that ink, then touched with a yellow Chameleon pen.
The current Indigo Blu publication comes with a great mixed media stencil, the dotty section was used on both side of the card dusted with Spiced Marmalade DI. This was followed by a beautiful flower stencil which is unmarked and has parted company with its packaging so I do not know who to credit. Once again Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed DI dusted through it. The word Bloom is from Stampin' up yet another quite old stamp.
By now 3 different birds had been stamped and fussy cut so they could be laid in turn on the surface to decide which would work best. You can see which one won, it is the same Inkylicious bird you last saw here as a Sparrow, this time it is a Blue Tit, no idea what next maybe a Chaffinch or some other species of tit. The colour for this versatile little bird provided by my Chameleon pens again, and in places lots of colour layering.
All that remained to decide on were the butterflies, once again it was an Inkylicious set that provided this pair. Stamped, Fussy cut and coloured with the Chameleon Pens again. The yellow/orange one used just one pen and their inbuilt blending system.
So there you have it, lots of techniques, lots of mediums and something else now looking for a frame. There are lots of challenges I want to share this with so if I exceed some challenge limits please accept my apologies in advance I do try to check but sometimes just get carried away.

More than enough, if not too many! Just about all of them were in mind as this came together. If you are in England remember this is just an easing of the rules not their complete removal and we don't want another spike/lockdown so please Stay Safe, Keep Well, Wear your Mask and Keep your Distance all the while HAVE FUN.
