Another ocean themed piece

Well many hand washes later the blue ink has finally been cleaned off my hands.  You would think that being water colour it would be easy to clean up Brushos but no they stain.  They are also great fun to work with.

The card blank had already been trimmed so that the front is narrower than the back.  The cut away panel was turned into the topper.   Lavinia Stamps provided this gorgeous jelly fish image, stamped in two shades of blue.  Wanting a kind of blue ombre the image needed making but with those delicate tendrils the usual fussy cut mask didn't seem the best option and drawing gum was used instead.

4 shades of blue brusho used, powders sprinkled onto a pallet and mixed with water then applied to the card.  They were not quite dry when the gum was rubbed off so the surface of the card was rubbed off as well but I decided that it improved the overall appearance.  The image was now coloured with Chameleon pens.

Card background a stencil dusted with Peacock feathers and salty sea.  The seaweed is another Lavinia stamp.  Finishing touches sparkly sakura pen on the tendrils and in a couple of places on the body.

Shopping our Stash - #455 Here Fishy Fishy I hope this Jelly Fish qualifies.

Lavinia Stamps - Under the Sea, I don't have many Lavinia stamps but pleased to be able to join the challenge this time.

  1. Jelly Fish are some of the most intriguing and beautiful sea creatures, they look so fragile but they are also quite dangerous.
Your water looks amazing and it's the perfect background for this gorgeous image, that you colored so beautifully.
