River of Creativity The Gift more inspiration

At River of Creativity we always want to push a theme as much as possible.  Our current theme, The Gift, could be interrupted in lots of different ways and be expressed in a variety of ways.

This time I'm thinking about the gift of Dance.  To be able to control your limbs in precise movements and still make it look effortless and graceful is a wonderful gift.

The base is a Tando MDF heart given just one coat of Decorate Green Gold acrylic paint.   The dancer is a Pink Ink mould getting it's first use.   Filled with new to me eli chem resin, once the mould was filled I started putting various things into the resin.  Gilding flakes, Brusho Pigments, and Glitter were all added and then everything left overnight for the resin to set.

The next morning it was exciting to release the now hardened figure from the mould.  It's wonderful but a lot of the fine details needed to be enhanced and drawn out.  Silver alchemy wax rubbed all over the model resolved that.  Now it needed a platform, that heart shape was ideal.

Something was needed to create a wall hanging and enhance The Dancer.  Foamiran die cut flowers and leaves popped into my head out of a bag of pre cut pieces the ones you see were arranged and everything attached.

This then is my second The Gift sample for our current River of Creativity challenge.  We'd love you to join us with something of your making.

  1. The wistful image you have created is beautiful Zoe, so many times I've watched demos using moulds and resin but it's not an avenue I've ventured down (yet). Love this whole creation.
