Gift Card Holder

Today has been a good day, there was time to get in the craft room.  Well there was an alternative option the vacuuming could have been dealt with, the craft room won out hahaha.   There was even a project in mind, a gift card holder.

On Pinterest I found a fabulous guide to making a gift card holder that is both simple and  fun.

I used a strip of card 12 inches by 5 1/2 inches, folded in half and then scored 1 1/2 inches from each side of that centre fold.  The side scores are then valley folded with the centre fold in mountain fold.  this gives a card with another fold inside.  Using DST stick the open sides of the inner fold together and then create a slot in the top of this section to insert a gift card.

To decorate the front of the card I used AALL and create stamps from two different sets and Distress Ink.  My objective was a CAS card but one that is a little quirky and different.  First the bird was stamped and then a mask was made to cove it.  The Butterfly Circles stamp was then stamped twice the first impression placed to give the bird somewhere to perch.

Mask removed the bird was coloured in Kingfisher livery using bruynzeel felt pens.  Another new set of pens that I'm hoping will be a replacement for my ageing Whisper pens.

  6. What a majestic bird! Love two in one projects: card and gift card holder. Saves on time, time one can use to vacuum, or better create another. So happy you played along with Krafty Chicks Challenge this week.
