This A4 sized blackboard came from the Banana bookshop at the same time as the hat with the intention of distressing it for Sam's distress swap on Lots to do Forum Started it on Monday evening, finished last night (stayed up to finish it!) It seems that it will fit both Gingersnap's Copper, Ginger or Rust colour challange and Allsort's Alter/recycle week.
Wood frame washed with watered down white gesso and then sprayed with lots of blue, green and gold GMs. Viva Croco in Copper spread over top of frame and onto board WOW does that stuff crack as it dries yum. Paper perfect spread on bottom and when dry sprayed again with green and gold GM. TH bird stamped and embossed on grunge and coloured with Distress ink, flowers stamped and embossed on grunge that had been given a watered down gesso wash. Promarkers used to colour flowers the petals were then painted with Rainbow glaze. Blue Rainbow glaze painted lightly over some of the dry Croco to bring the high colour down just a little, dots of Rainbow glaze in red and blue placed randomly over the piece.
Still use it as a black board but you might not want the kids to use it now :)
WOW!!! what a transformation
