Focus on Background
Janet my lovely team mate from Tuesday Taggers is mad for atcs her collection of swaps received is over 1000! She has a little swap running right now over on a forum we are both members of. The swap is to make 4 atcs using your favourite background technique, not sure i have a favourite just enjoy messing and seeing what the results are.
The first ATC Hummingbird is made up of the waste from my acrylic pallet, this was used on the last mask I made. When the painting is finished the paints might just be spread and mixed a little more then left until the opportunity to use the waste comes along. Here the background was cut to size and stamped. The image was stamped twice more on the same paper and layered 3d decoupage style. The top bird and centre of the flower have been given glossy accents treatment.
The Wild Cat is a Dream Weaver stencil with chalk inks. Tanda stamps for the cat words and grass all just stamped in black the leopard has some Promarker shading, and sakura green eyes.
Birdhouse the background is another piece of yesterdays alcohol ink play. Stamped with images from LB in SU white stuck to another atc sized card with feathers sandwiched. the white ink smudged a little liked the effect in places but in others went over the image in white pen which really sharpened it up and made it pop (I think).
Forth black card 'painted' with the starch technique, might not have done that properly but like the effect here of white light moving on a dark background. Overstamped with Clarity Paris collage stamp embossed with cosmic shimmer red and good old black sparkle a few gems added to this one as highlights, one watch face filled with glossy accents
