Tuesday again, once more its time for Tuesday Taggers to challenge you. There were some stunning anniversary cards last week, romantic, cute and witty brave the man that gives the dragon card to his wife! LOL hope you all enjoyed yourself as much as we did visiting you all.
This week its my turn to set the theme, thought a great big wide open theme 'Canvas' would be fun. This can go in any direction you want there are all sorts of canvas to choose; pads of canvas paper, canvas board, boxed canvasses they come in all sizes. Use a piece of canvas with other materials needs to be a reasonable size and not just a little scrap some where. Canvas is used to make sails, bags, chairs all sorts of things have a play and then come back and show us what you have done. We have a sponsor this week who are offering a full set of their new Altered Originals Sprays to one lucky winner drawn at random this week, all you have to do is leave a little link to Art from the heart in you entry post.
For my offering this week my inspiration came from an article in the latest 'Cloth Paper Scissors' where Leilani Pierson wrote about Pocket scrolls. Leilani used canvas cloth while I used a canvas page from a pad and also replaced semi-gloss soft medium gel with matt finish modge podge so my canvas is probably a little stiffer than hers.
Tore A4 canvas in half roughly so it has frayed edges and is wider at one end, this became the bottom of the scroll. Sprayed canvas both sides with Memory mists in yellow and kaki the green was so clogged just shook a few drops on. Stamped on both sides of the piece in Momento filled in images and followed lines on outside with Acrylic paint, on the inkadinkado bird there are dots of paint giving more texture and feel. When ready the outside was sprayed with GM and given a coating of modge podge. While it was drying snipped a piece of florists wire to length giving it a curl at each end. Papers were cut to sit inside the scroll some are pattened some plain and some were watermarked with versamark. A couple of bird images and a treble cleft stamped on lightly coloured frosted shrink, cut out given a hole to hang them and on one bird 2 so it could be a button. Shrink shrunk 3 charms attached to wire with jump rings. Once the canvas was dry the button stitched on and some Decoflax cord stitched and glued inside behind the button. The wire is glued to the top of the canvas and the pages stuck inside the canvas. Roll it up and you have a portable journal.
So thats it Canvas in a roll what will you make of the challenge, don't forget you link to Art from the heart those new sprays look delicious.

The green bird card below is also adorable.
I must apologies in advance that I doubt I will get to take part in your theme which really miffs me as I did my first canvas last week in readiness for some DT work and really enjoyed it.
The reality is that I ought to do some packing for out hols, but before I can do that there is is unfamiliar thing called ironing - what's that all about I wonder ?
So if I get to take part it will be a bonus and apols in advance if not.
