Thats better a little light mid week crafting, just the thing. Its my Brothers birthday in a few days need to get a card off to him, fortunatly he is not a visitor here so it was safe to use the inspiration from three fun challenges.
The technique used to colour the grungeboard inchies can be found on page 53 of 'A Compendium of Curiosities' and was chosen by Lovely Linda for this week's thing to do from the book. Cannot tell you what was done or how but on these 3 shades of blue and 3 shades of green plus the gorgeous colour steam were used.
The colour choices were because not only do I love them but Sue has chosen them for this fortnight's Tanda Teaser The car is from Tanda's 'Transport set 1', the cogs drawn by me were made into a stamp by Andrew at Tanda.
The inches were used because of the fun Gingersnap challenge to use inches. This month the overall theme there is tiles and I'm sure there was reference to old maps there as well. The first mat that the inchies sit on is an old map of lancashire printed on canvas.
All that remains now is to pop it in the post and hope he likes it.

ReplyDeleteZoe, I love this! We don't see nearly enough wonderful, masculine cards in the world, but you've given us a real winner here. I love how you used the AI agate technique on the inchies-- it looks like really artistic tile work! The colors are great, too, and the cogs you drew are just fantastic. What a cool stamp!
