The Stampman - Distressed

Hi, do you remember the trip to the garden centre and the wall art the grabbed my attention? One was a series of twisted metal flourishes reaching up and covered with butterflies larger at the bottom growing smaller the higher up the flourishes they were. The butterflies were also metal and shaped wonderful and expensive piece.

This was directly inspired by that wonder. A rub on applied to green coated metal. The outline has been worked with TSS tools back and front, a couple of the flowers and a leaf were puffed from the back and the back filled with Glossy accents. Metal panal stuck to card and the edges run over with a TSS wheel. When the metal was stuck the card edges were coloured with DI Shabby shutters, scattered straw and tattered rose, in a couple of places smudges of glossy accents worked as resist adding to the distress. Butterflies stamped onto pearlised paper with Brillence lime green, Vellum butterflies made using a cuttlebug cut and emboss set. All butterflies covered with Distress Stickles in Shabby shutters and Tattered rose. A couple of green busy lizzies cut from printed vellum all paper and vellum attached to card with the same distress stickles. This did not work for the vellum butterflies so sepia glossy accents was used.

Am entering this into The Stampman Challenge which this fortnight is distress.

  6. I know exactly the wall art you're talking about, Zoe they have those in our garden centre too. We have one in our conservatory that's like a big sunburst and I love it. I love how you've interpreted it into this lovely project, the green is gorgeous and the butterflies work brilliantly in vellum don't they. Just beautiful.
