More Steampunk and another Thank you!

Yesterday morning this little 3.5 sq. inch box was plain wood.   Now it is a little Steampunked up.

Gingersnap's latest spicy supply challenge is 'Cogs, Gears and Watch parts'.   Add to which their over-riding theme for July is Steampunk.

It is also a new challenge at The Stamp man, Anything by T!m.  As it turned out quite a few products with his name on them were used on this.

Box painted with Distress Stain, Walnut Stain.   Two applications to get a good dark colour, the nooks and carnies were coloured with the same stain transferred to a makeup sponge.    TSS metal and cog plate worked up to provide the lid cover.   For a while I've been wanting to make a piece with layers of cogs.   With the metal embossed with cogs as a base using the same metal and the TH/Sizzix Cogs die cut two of the smallest and one medium cog cut.    Black Alcohol ink touched over die cuts and embossed plate.   Embossed plate filled on the reverse with Glossy accents and card stock over that, once dry it was stuck to the wood lit with red line tape, not Ranger this time.     Tissue tape wrapped round box, lid and base.    Silicone glue holds the die cuts raised over the base and two winders from a dismantled clock stuck in the middle.   Top and sides of the box further embellished with finds from here and there, cogs and other parts from dismantled watches, a nail head split pin, florist wire and a very grungy 20p piece i found on the street a while ago.

Am also entering this box into
Jac-Inks Papercraft   -   Die cuts and Texture.
Shopping our Stash   -   Either use something you have been hording (the 20p) or something brand new (Tissue tape.)
Squigglefly   -   Metal
Inspire me Friday   -   Always anything goes

Postman came again yesterday as well thank you Angela.    Wonderful goodies going to have a lot of fun playing with these.
