Exploring my new environment by going to Leeds yesterday. Great shopping center and a smashing edge of town retail park with a branch of Hobby Craft. Bit disappointed with it really the smallest range of stamps! While there picked up a very inspiring book 'The art of Steampunk' fabulous pictures and examples of amazing 3d projects. The hand well that is a future project.
Came home to discover that my former team mates at Tag it On have a 'Steampunk and old fashioned toys' challenge. Fueled by a book full of inspiration got out my tags and some other bits and pieces. TH on the edge die for a wonderful ornate edge. Using the TH compass mask coloured over the mask and tag with metallic ink, coloured in some of the masked area with Sakura ink. Little Clarity cyclist stamped in Adirondack Espresso stamped at the bottom. The Clarity graceful lady stamped onto white card and cut out, her dress has been colour washed with a brown Sakura pen and yellow for her hair. She has been given metal mesh wings diecut with a TH die. A clock hand became the compass pointer and a resister controls the power to the wings. Pearls and Grommets complete the steampunk theme. The cord used to suspend the tag has been looped by splicing it, not the easiest thing to do with such a small cord.
A tag then for Dragon's Dream TIO and also for
Creative Craft Challenges - Fancy Edges
Ruby's Rainbow - Use metal
Cooking it up with Katie - anything but a card
Diva's by Design - Use metal
Papercraft Star - Add a flourish
There she Goes - Use Jute, hemp, burlap or twine
