Craft-Room - Buttons and Bows

Well the fortnight flew by!  They were my first 2 weeks at a new job and the good news is I'm enjoying it.  In fact the move from Hampshire to Grimsby (Lincolnshire) has proved to have been the right thing all round for me.

A new Craft-Room Challenge starts today.  Our lovely Debi has set the theme and is looking for Buttons and Bows.   Our sponsor this time is Rarebird who have put forward a fab jewellery making kit with Friendly Plastic for the winner of the random draw.

Friendly plastic is great fun to play with, I used lots of real buttons and FP on this canvas.   No surprise that the piece is sky inspired, again.  Firstly Watercolour Pearlescent paint used on pre-gessoed canvas setting both the blue and pink/purple sky and calm grey sea reflecting the sky.   Buttons glued over the paint following the lines of the patterns.    FP triangles make bows/birds, silver FP forms the crests of the waves and a multicoloured FP setting sun shines over it all.

As always the terrific Craft-Room team have made marvelous samples to inspire your creativity.   We all hope you will join us this time with your Button and Bow projects.

Of course there are other challenges to share this with
Dream Valley Challenges - Summer (my abstract is definitely Summer inspired)
Inspire me Fridays - Always Anything Goes
Phindy's Place - Button it
Moving along with the times - Pink, Pearly and Pretty
