Tando and the colours of Summer

All this week at Tando Creative we have been celebrating the Colours of Summer.    It might be old age, or the Jubilee and Olympics bring the spot light back to GB, but somehow my inspiration came from the Swinging '60's.   The '60's took us from decades of drab into an explosion of youth and colour, hence these colours and the flowers.

My canvas was first coloured with Water Soluble wax pastels.   The Tando Chip board shapes have been coloured with ProMarkers, Sakura Glitter Gel pens and Rub on's.   Tando Butterfly masks laid onto the canvas and covered with Dreamweaver embossing paste, with the Paste still wet paper flowers coloured with Glimmer Mist and acrylic paint were pushed into it.   Then the Tando shapes added adhered with the paste and glue.   The phone box stands proud on sticky pads.

Summer sun continues to elude us and maybe memory deceives but those summers seem now to have been long and sunny and fun.

It just so happens that Oozak have a challenge to use Bright Colours so I'm entering this in their challenge.

  1. Lovely BRIGHT piece! I like the juxtaposition of the bus and the cars, too. Neat! Very psychedelic!
