Hi! I think I'm back at last following a bit of a creative dry spell. A lot of you know I've had quite a couple of years that were very up and down but which have turned out well but maybe things caught up with me a little bit. Anyway the juices seem to be flowing again!
At the week-end Julia's daughter got married, fellow Teamie Maria and I were invited to the evening bash and had a great time. Everything about the evening was magical thank you Julia. One of the first things Julia said to us feel free to take some of the table dressings, the tables had been scattered with purple petals and lovely shiny little droplets. Needless to say we did not need to be asked twice. It also turned out that Maria has lost here spec's case and was using a blank (waiting to be altered) wooden pencil case and that with the table dressing got the juices flowing again.
This fortnights challenge at the Craft-Room has been set by Julia who as she explores the inky, messier side of crafting is becoming very interested in altering things and so that is what she is asking us all to do, alter something, anything recycle something or just give an old tired object a new lease of life. Of course we have a terrific sponsor with us this time Stamp Addicts are offer a £10 to one lucky person to spend at their store.
So many of us love altering please do join us and share your altered project, if you are lacking inspiration check out the team's blogs they have as usual made some stunning projects for the challenge. See you over at Craft-Room Challenge.

OK so I got home midday Sunday with petals and shiny things in my bag and an idea to make over an old spec's case. Talk about cutting it fine LOL First I coated the case (Picture above) with Viva Croco primer and set it aside to dry. Next I Stamped a Creative Expressions Butterfly onto card and heat embossed it in gold. Having cut the image out it was coloured with shades of purple ProMarkers and glued onto the case. Gold Croco slathered over the case top and bottom and around the butterfly, I love this paste the thicker the layer the more dramatic the cracks. Some of the petals and shiny things were pushed into the wet paste and the whole lot left to dry. Monday morning prior to going to work (I was late by the way) Glossy Accents applied over the stamped image and that was left to dry. What I would have done if any of this had turned out badly I have no idea! as it happens it seems to be OK. Maria the case will be in the post to you at the week-end!
