Last week-end a lot of my FB friends received updates about my sticky and inky fingers. This is the result of all that wonderful messyness.
This week at Tando Creative the team are sharing home decor projects. My contribution is this Perpetual Calendar. Everything is in the kit apart from florists oasis foam stuff.... and glue. A lot of glue went into the making of this. The bowl was mostly decorated prior to being slotted together. Each of the 4 sides was coated with clear drying glue and Alcohol glue dripped into the wet glue. Once they were all dry the bowl was assembled, the un decorated sides show where the parts fit and these where decorated the same way, the glue helping to secure the piece. Quickie pens traced the outline of some of the pools of colour and then gilding flakes stuck to them giving a trail down each piece.
The flowers, for the numbers, rectangles for months and clouds for days were coloured with either Adirondack dry inks or Glimmer Mists. The numbers were coloured and then covered with Glossy Accents crackle glaze. Parts assembled lots more glue and with a plastic straw filling the sandwich the straws slip over wooden dowels that are pushed into the oasis.
Great fun to make this will be a fun addition to my desk at work.
