Morning, it's that time again a new Craft-Room Challenge and this time I am your host. It is so much fun being part of the Craft-Room team, I am continually surprised by the inspiration and diversity the group brings to each challenge. This time is no exception take a look at the fantastic samples they have all produced.
We were going to be sponsored this time by Tanda Stamps but as you might know the business closed about a month ago. We do have the stamps that still for the prize and to that I am adding my sample this time. Oh you want to know the theme? 'From me to You' a gift that you have made for someone else.
It has been quite awhile since I last decorated a mask, and the blank for this one has been with me since before the move. Unlike previous masks this one is plastic, making it a different and slightly more difficult to colour. The eye and cheek are covered with a single layer of napkin. In the past I've used wet glue to stick napkins, messy and unreliable method. This time I used Art Quest glue that dries tacky painting it all over the mask blank, once it had settled to a tacky surface the tissue laid onto it and smoothed. Much easier and the result is so much better so that's another lesson learnt more of the same glue used over the top to seal the tissue. With an overall tacky mask Perfect Pearls was brushed over colouring both uncovered and covered surface. The leaves on the printed napkin were painted in green, with Art Quest shimmer paint. Some gold/green card die cut with a floral border this covers the join of tissue to plain surface. The little butterfly is one of my older and much loved stamps, stamped onto fusion fibers and then carefully cut out. Pearls, feathers, and ribbon complete the project.
A simple challenge then and fun, it always is to make and give a gift. If you have something in mind please take up the challenge and share your gift for someone with us.
