Oh look I'm back again! Well yes it's Tuesday and the start of a new challenge at Craft-Room Challenge. First a thank you to everyone who entered my gift giving challenge, my challenge now is to choose just 3 as my top picks 'twill not be easy I assure you.
This time Suzanne is our hostess and she has selected In the Garden - Anything but a card as her theme. That's right for the second challenge running we are excluding cards, but you all proved last time that you all do a lot more than just cards.
For years now I've been meaning to alter an Altoids Tin. The little mints that fill these tins are very enjoyable as well. This then is the first attempt. Designer papers cut to fit inside and cover the lid. The first set of La Blance stamps i got from QVC were little floral images two of the smallest block stamps were used here stamped in grey and fussy cut. Reindeer moss on the bottom of the upright tin made it easier to stick these in raised off the base. The same stamps with stayzon colours used on plastic shapes, the two on the inside of the lid have been given stems of twisted sari silk.
A little Tando Bird and a metal bee charm bring the last elements of a summer garden to the tin's inside. not showing in the pictures is the outside edge of the base which was white, a little green and pink Alcohol Ink brings the garden feel to the sides.
Then the lid. Before sticking the paper some green lace was attached around the rim, then the paper then a hand tied bow of the same lace. Little paper flowers and self adhesive gems and a ribbon flower bring more of the garden to the piece as does the metal charm butterfly. Did you spot the key? Well it is a secret garden after all.
Another great Craft-Room Challenge for you to have a little think about, we are all keen to see what you do and if you need more inspiration take a look at the wonderful things my teamies have made.
I'm entering this in
Heck of a Challenge - Spring/Butterflies and Pearls
The Craft Garden - Monet's Garden
2 Sisters - Flowers for Spring
Anything but a Card - Spring/Spring Colours or Alice in Wonderland
