Stormy week-end

Well it certainly is here strongish winds, driven rain and bright spots!   This is not shaping up to be a crisp autumn.   But I do think we put the clocks back tonight and this is the 10th anniversary of my quitting smoking give or take a day.    Now that is a bizarre thought and I'm happy to report that I am a happy secondary smoker.  I know the comfort that smoking brings and that 'encouragement' to quit is both deflating and self defeating.

If you are a non smoker before pointing out the damage smoking does to any of your smoking friends and family stop!    I'll not go on this as I've got no idea where the lecture came from or where it's going!

Anyway being indoor weather I've been playing.   The CAS card I made I'll share on Tuesday.   Now I wonder why that would be. then having been neat and clean I went in the other direction.   Having tried and failed to stencil with spray some corrugated card I pressed this kraft tag onto the wet stencil.    Next it was over stamped using a La Blanch stamp and Olive Green Versa Fine, a second stamp used 3 times on the bottom stamping off the edge.   The failed corrugated (a used coffee cup cuff) was flipped over and stamped on the back this time in Versa Fine Black, the images were fussy cut out and coloured with Sakura Glitter Pens, they shimmer.   Using a nail file kept for the purpose the edges of the tag were distressed, and then DI blended over in shades of green, brown and orange/rust.  The original mask/stencil (Tando Leaves) was laid back over the tag and Glimmer Mist Iridescent Gold sprayed over.   Some Viva paste spread down the side and on the edge, now the three repeat stamps were added.    Just a fun little project to while away an other wise dull day.

I wonder what these people will make of it, they are all challenges followed by my friends at Challenges for Days

Brown Sugar - Autumn
Card Crafters Circle - Autumn Splendour
Little Red Wagon  - Brads or Eyelets, writing up the Wednesday list this challenge stayed in my mind hence the brad body for the dragonfly.
Shelly's Images - A Fall Themed picture inspiration.
Use your Stuff - Orange, Brown and Green
Cheerful Stamp Pad - Lets Stencil (2nd entry)

  2. First of all I'm proud to say I too am an x-smoker of 21 years. I quit when my granddaugher was born. Got such a craving a few weeks into it that I bummed a cigarette from a neighbor and let me tell you ... I nearly choked to death ... that was my sign that it was time to give it up for good and haven't looked back since!
okay ... now that's been said, let me tell you I love your tag. I don't make nearly enough tags and you've inspired me! Thanks so much for joining our "October – Photo Inspiration" challenge at Shelly's Images! Please come back and join us again real soon!!

  9. Beautiful tag Zoe such wonderful autumn colours.

I quit 24 years ago but I am not sure you are ever a non smoker-I still love the idea of smoking and the feeling of romance when two cigarettes were lit from the same light in a motor service service station-on a dark night-during a journey to a far off destination. I expect by now if I had continued to smoke I wouldn't have been here to enjoy anything at all--that's the reality :(

I have never had one since I quit.

    Love Chrissie x
