Thank you to everyone who joined in with Christine's challenge last week. I know Christine will have quite a task choosing her top 3.
This week we are back with the team and it is Esther's turn to host the Craft-Room challenge. As we are now in the time period covered by the star sign Aquarius Esther has taken her inspiration from the stars and is looking for projects that are Water Inspired. Take a look at the teams samples and you will see that your inspiration might be in the form of a technique or like mine more literal and be a representation of water or the water pourer himself.
Tando are out sponsor again this time, they have a fantastic and constantly growing range of products and I know Di will send out random winner a terrific prize.
I will confess to loving this challenge, so much so I made 2 samples!
First the tag cut using a TH die and then embossed with an embossing folder. Sorry cannot help with the details it is one that I've had in my collection for a long time. DI inks stormy sky and another blue blended over the tag using the ink dusters. Water was then spritz onto the tag leaving droplet marks. The fish were coloured with Orange ProMarker run over the raised area. Sakura Glitter Pens used to help the embossed area's pop by running colour at the base of each embossed part. Not clear in the picture is the glossy accents used to further highlight the embossing further.
This second image still has to be mounted in some way but I just love the image as it is. I think the stamp is intended to be a fossil but it just screamed remains of a fish floating on a lettuce leaf to me. First the image was stamped and then a mask cut to cover it. Torn paper covered sections of the card and 3 different shades of blue ink blended over. The main image coloured with ProMarkers while the divides of blue colour highlighted with clear/glossy Sakura Pen. white Sakura Pen touched over this.
One day I will find a use for this but for now it is just one of those things I've made and am very pleased with.
Blue is the main colour used with these two and so I'm linking my samples with a couple of Blue challenges.

ReplyDeleteBoth projects are stunning Zoe! I love how calming that embossed tag is. I love it. It reminds me of the Koi garden my mom used to have.
