Now all the Christmas/New Year holidays are over for another year we are back at Craft-Room with new challenges for you. Last year after Julia and Maria went on sabbatical before we recruited Annie and Amber we turned to our FB group for a little help. One of our group is a lovely lady from France Christine Cesar, Christine suggested a picture inspiration and produced this terrific collage for us to be inspired by and to work from.
Christine says about the challenge;
And now introducing the challenge :
Dear crafters i am happy to be Zoe and DT members guest for this challenge. I will ask you to capture the spirit of the card and do your own card or page featuring what you extract out of it. Hoping you will have fun to challenge whith me.
We have a special one off sponsor as well (But I try and get them back!) Ali Craft are giving one lucky random winner £10 to spend at their online shop.
I think Christine's inspiration piece is very clever and thought provoking. There are a lot of different elements and themes going on, Christine has done a brilliant job of tying them all together. Keeping the instruction to capture the spirit extracting inspiration from it 3 things settled in my mind. Time (Time keeping pieces) Coffee and Metal.
As is often the way with my art this project evolved as it went on. The starting point my Geli Pad and adirondack Latte ink, when this had coloured a piece of card Expresso ink and a TH mask pressed into it. Mask off, card back on and then the edges trimmed. Some corrugated card stripped and another mask, this time Tando Creative, places top left the skull design picked out with copper paste paint. The skull was topped with a little die cut crown from the scraps box. The chipboard cogs were added next after being sprayed with Glimmer Mist (Coffee Shop) Coffee coloured Galssine paper stencilled bottom right this time with ProMarkers and another skull. Lace, flowers some Prima some cut and rolled myself, and part of an old necklace arranged and added. The time and metal theme brought out again with the metal wings and clock charm.
It was a lot of fun developing this thank you Christine for a fabulous challenge.
