It is beginning to feel like it might be the sun is shining the birds are gathering nesting material & I'm sneezing. Gotta be spring right?
Had some fun yesterday with this little hanger. The base came die cut in good board from a local craft shop. They make great book covers, box lids or as here just as a base to build on. Covered it with some pretty designer paper that I acquired years ago! We all do it don't we buy pretty paper and then rather than use them we keep them for years only occasionally coming across them when we admire them all over again. So I cut this one up covered the board, and then put it to one side but this time only for weeks.
The tag is yet another TH die cut coloured with various shades of pastel Adirondack dye based ink and the dusters of course. A couple of masks cut with Mac style designs laid over the board the coloured tag. The designed pattern embossed onto the mounts with Glitzcraft Glitter Frosting Paste. I really like this stuff it is quick drying allowing you to carry on with your project rather than wait hours for the paste to go off. Next came the Tissue Paper printed with words and in this case roses this was glued on over, under and around the tag. More of the tissue paper (just with words on) cut using the TH Tattered Florals and Tattered Leaves dies. Before layering and attaching these 2 of each style was coloured with Whister Pens. The wetness of the ink made the paper curl giving more movement and dimension.
The bow is one I made with my new Brilliant Bowmaker. So easy to use and all the bits go in the right direction! Everything in place the hanging just needed a couple of acetate stamped dragon flies and a little acetate butterfly, these were stamped in Stayzon and coloured with Promarkers. The Stayzon is on one side and the Promarker ink on the other as these two products do not play nicely together. This weeks promise of Spring then.
