Three's

It being the wrong end of the month I decided not to go to the NEC yesterday which meant I did not get to meet up with Sue Law again but we had a good chat on the 'phone on Friday and I'm very lucky that she understood.    Instead I popped up to Running with Scissors and picked up a few bits and bobs.   Chatting to Tracey was shocked to learn that people do not buy wooden backed rubber stamps choosing instead to buy Acrylic ones.    I don't understand this, although I do have some acrylic stamps,  they do not have the longevity of rubber I would be lost without my rubber stamps that collection grew a little more yesterday out of Tracey's bargain bin all those yummy rubber stamps that people are not buying!

So craft shopping fix complete what else to do but come home and have a little play?

The card was inspired by the Less is More challenge this week, Use 3 of something and also to comment on at least 3 of the other entries preferably those of people you have not visited before.   This sharing, visiting and commenting is something that Chrissie and Mandi were very keen should do right from the start 3 years ago, or is that 4 years now?   If you are visiting me for the first time you are very welcome, old friends I hope know that they are always welcome.   Chrissie tries to get to every entry something I cannot respect her enough for it is a lot of work and very much appreciated.

So my card, not perhaps what I think of as CAS but opinion varies.   I've used 3 ribbons, layered.   Stamped the word friends 3 times and used half my one and only Lost Coast Stamp of the dressmakers dummy's.   Stamped in grey Memento ink and coloured with ProMarkers pink/purple green/grey.

Inkspirational have a fantastic inspiration picture this fortnight, it is the bright, bold, vivid colours that struck me.   Although the sheep tempt me as well so maybe watch this space not sure yet.

I'm also sharing this with That's Crafty, it is their second challenge with the theme of Inky Antics.   Just use those inks.   I really like this new challenge as it is open to all styles and tastes welcoming entries that send your imagination running wild.   Hope my Trio's card is not to tame for them.

I'm also sharing this with AAA Cards who have a bit of a DT Call, my style is not CAS although I have got into them more and more (blame Less is More) my style is all my own and therefore kinda modern.

Right my fingers are far to clean going to put that right now.

  1. Fabulous! I love the bright colours.

I have both rubber (mounted and unmounted) and clear stamps and I don't really have a preference. I'm always attracted by the image first and foremost. Yes, mounted rubber often gives a better impression but I also like being able to see through the clear stamps, especially sentiments.

  5. I, too, adore rubber on wood - the only reason I even have acrylic stamps is due to the fact they are so cheap (so feel free to pick up some extra stamps for me! hehehehe) - I love the dress forms but I really love that FRIENDS stamp - wonderful addition to your stamp stash ~ xo (an old friend) :)

PS: I have to confess not buying wood mounted now although I do prefer rubber to clear for the stamping quality and like unmounted to avoid those nasty postal charges!

  9. This is a really lovely card Zoe. I'm with you on wooden stamps as I always seem to get a better stamp when I use them. I do have both though as there aren't too many new wooden ones about. Well done for finding some in the bargain bin

    Love Chrissie x
