You know there are just not enough hours in the day or days in the week, or maybe its just that there is not enough free time to do all the things rattling around in my head. Genealogy yep I'm looking at the family tree again. Prepping for the start of Twofers next Saturday, just spending time with the cats. Keeping up with my two lists on Challenges for days and so importantly playing games on FB!
One thing about wire wrapping is that you cannot rush at it, you need to think about it get a design in your head and then work steadily and carefully. Mistakes show and I have so much to learn, not least how to disguise errors, its not like a card you cannot just stick a flower or butterfly on it!

This pendant is a green onyx oval, wrapped in gold coloured wire. 5 strands woven together make the frame, the ends of the wire nearest the back cross at the back and have been bound together to help keep the stone in place. Both the outer wires front and back have been bent to help capture the stone. 2 of the middle ends have been woven together and bent to form the bezal. 4 of the ends are dressed with gizmo wire and then shaped, the final 2 ends have just been coiled.
Then to make my life slightly more complicated I made the chain, 43 figure of 8 pieces joined with tiny 2mm jump rings completed with a hook and eye catch. Was it worth it I think so I'm proud of how I'm developing taking my jewellery making taking it much further than I ever did before.
Thought I'd share this with Anything But a Card their July Challenge is Anything Goes. Another Challenge As you like it caught my eye, their theme is your favourite colour and why it is your favourite. Green, I love green and the relationship between green and gold is clear and obvious here. But why green well sit in a green painted room with the green curtains closed and the sun shining outside. That used to be my living room and might be agin one day fresh light airy at the same time cool and calm no other colour has quite the qualities as that magic mix of yellow and blue.
So very beautiful and unusual Zoe.
