The first of our new challenges at Twofers has finished! Writing the second DT post is a bit of a shock, seems to have flown by. We had 3 lovely entries and received a lot of support, thank you.
This time it is the turn of Jane to host our challenge. Jane's theme is Weddings and being open to love and loving people, all manner of weddings are being celebrated. The idea came to Jane following the Wedding of Clare Balding earlier to her wife Alice Arnold. As same sex marriages become more common place traditional wedding stationary is going to need a bit of revision. Our challenge this fortnight is as all embracing any wedding celebration is covered by the theme.
Keeping with my intention to make a set of playing with our first year (if we survive that long) challenges.
The first used some older stamps a 'You make my heart sing' and an Andy Skinner personal impressions set. Very disappointed with the polymer stamp it had not been taken off it's backing before and started to disintegrate as it was released. Whisper pens helped bring the heart song out from behind the word love.
The second card, 2 of hearts, used a Penny Black stamp wood mounted, of two doves. A cube stamp provided the 2 hearts which were carefully lined up to provide the double image. The greeting comes from another old stash item, they are rub ons!

Beautiful playing cards, Zoe! Great colours!
ReplyDeleteLove them!! I certainly hope we last long enough for you to make the whole deck :)
ReplyDeleteI've had similar problems with old NBUS polymer stamps too, they don't last like rubber! Really looking forward to seeing the finished deck of cards!
