Less is more have a challenge theme this week that really struck a cord "Whats outside your Window". The rider is to use your imagination, still keeping it CAS. Well my ideas about CAS have been getting some revision when you look at some so called CAS challenges and entries to them they are positively cluttered with more on them than some of my most piled creations.
So after sleeping on it I raided my stencils and made some fabulous discoveries, it has been far too long since they saw the light of day. My window frame is a celtic knot, the bird on a branch is another stencil. Inkylicious Dusters, Latte Adirondack ink blended over the stencil form the frame & base. Whisper Pens marked out the bird on a branch and were then used to colour it in.

That is perfect, Zoe! What a beautiful card! I don't think I've seen that stencil before - a real beauty!
ReplyDeleteLovely design - that Latte ink is gorgeous. I haven't seen it before. Yum! Really nice layout and the Celtic window frame seems to fit the feel of this time of year perfectly :)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful Zoe. I agree with what you say about CAS challenges, some of them seem to have DT samples and winners that have very little white space and lots of layers and embellishments. I prefer the ones like Less is More that encourage us to make that white space work for us, where the space becomes part of the design, and that's what you've got here. I love, love LOVE that Celtic knotwork stencil

I love your card the celtic knot encasing the beautifully coloured bird and branch is sheer perfection, the soft colours are beautiful.

ReplyDeleteA celtic knot window frame - what a fabulous idea! Reminds me of a church or castle window, something made out of huge stone and yet it is so delicate! Very lovely. Lou x (Guest Designer at LIM)
