Twofers - Organics

Hello, another 2 weeks have passed and it's time for a new challenge at Twofers & it's my turn to select the theme.   My choice is Organic.

Organic, something 'living' Plants Animals Insects. Organic as in farming crops and live stock grown without the use of aggressive methods or chemicals. Organic as in something that developes as you go along, not planned and/or placed but rather grows as you continue.   Jane and Christi had problems figuring out were to go with this at first, all 3 of us have gone in different directions and I'm sure you will agree once they each had a direction they nailed it.

My idea was very much going in a freestyle direction.   Had to check the pack first to figure out which cards were missing.   10 of hearts first.

All my playing cards are 3.5" x 2.5" it is the one constraint I've placed on myself.   This card started with the heart, from the English Stamp Company.  Masked this and got out the Inkylicious Dusters and Adirondack inks, blended the colours across then some direct to paper inking.   The stamping on the bottom half is a little stamp I've had for ages but don't think had inked before.   Used it here with both 1st and 2nd generation inking.    The 10 little flying hearts are hand drawn.   Mask removed a little more yellow dusted over.

Next the Ace of Spades, is a fish

Of course it is how did you not realise before?  Stamped, masked and dusted as before then a little Zen Tangle Inspired doodling.  I used Sakura pens to add little bubbles and some seaweed, as well as the all important A for Ace.   White pen made it all Pop.

All you need to do to join us is produce your own Organic piece, remember to include rubber/polymer stamping and share it with us.   One of the entries will win the $20 voucher provided by our brilliant sponsor.

  3. Love how you incorporated the hearts and spades on these designs and that they're actually part of the scene rather than just being an accessorie. Great job!
