Some challenges are of such a nature that you need time to respond, they stimulate your creative juices but time is needed to filter the ideas the check it will work and to finally collect all the elements you need.
This month Country View Challenges - Have fun with circles, was like that for me. So here we are nearly at the end of July (can you believe the end of July!) and finally my offering is ready.
This is a 12" canvas, the real base is brown canvas stretched onto a wood frame. Stuck onto this is a of sticky back canvas also 12" square. Now I'm not going to bore you with all the details just tell you the ingredients.
Acrylic Paint, Glimmer Mist, Adirondack ink, Gesso, Embossing paste, Grunge Paste, Embossing Powder, Rubber Stamps, Stencils, Grunge Board, White lined chipboard, card stock, Die Cutting, Wire, Decoupage glue/varnish. This last there was a happy accident with, so some Stampendous glitter and flake were added to the mix. Finally distressing.
In parts the canvas was frayed, but because it is sticky back that was difficult to get the strands to pull out. some of the curl from the base is deliberate some just happened. The work was done with the canvas the other way around the idea being the circles falling to the base. It was only when it came time to hang it that I realised just how great it looks this way up with the circles rising.
If you know me you'll know that just about everything fascinates me and it will not surprise you that I can now see something of expanding space in this. But I'm much more interested in what you see if you see anything.
Thought I'd share this with one or two other challenges
Allsorts - Anything but a Card.
Crafty Calendar - Punches and Dies
QKR Stampede - Up up and away (those circles are rising + in space every way is up)
Creative with Stamps - Ink Splatters
ABC Challenge - L is for Lots of Layers
Inky Mess - Anything Goes (Just squeezing in for their first challenge)
Craft your Passion - Anything Goes
No rain yet but less humid now time to give the car a bit of a run and recharge the battery. Hope you are relaxing and enjoying your day.
