No one challenges Shabby Chic anymore

Which is a shame.   But then no one does Oriental anymore either or Steampunk, what style(s) do you miss?   Mind you it is not always necessary to have a challenge or theme is it?

At Twofers we have another week of our Clocks/Time theme to run, but at the time of writing we only have one entry!   And the winner of the challenge will get $15 to spend at Alleystamp.  So having this clock to share with you all I thought I'd mention it.

The base for this clock, Tando chipboard, was something I'd tucked away and forgotten about until re-discovering it while getting something else out.    Don't you love it when you re-discover something really special like this?

Painted the back board with black chalk paint and set aside.   Laid out the various elements to find a pleasing arrangement and trimmed things to fit.   Having figured out the layout the chipboard and all the other elements were coated with Powertex and set aside to dry.   Powertex has to be left for an hour or more to dry after which you can add colour by dry brushing or gilding cream by finger.   I did both.  A piece of velum was attached to the back board to go behind the clock face.

Once everything was done some metal numbers from we are memory keepers completed the face.

I'm sharing this with

Thought I'd seen another challenge to enter but cannot find it now.   Will look again later.
Fount it!

On the home front, the shower is fitted and can be used from about midday today.  The best of the room still requires a lot of work but I can go and have a shower soon!

  6. Love our clock! Lots of wonderful texture in this design. I think people just love to follow trends and whatever is the latest and greatest I still do oriental and steampunk and whatever else comes to mind. There are those of us who continue to march to the beat of that which is "strained and far away." Thanks for playing along with us at Altered Eclectics!
