Am not liking this condensation of daylight and it is going to condense even more before we get those longer daytime periods. Well those of us on the northern half of the planet are, the further north the fewer daylight hours we will have for a little while now. Problem with that is the restriction it places on our crafting time. Crafting by electric light is OK up to a point but colouring and colour matching can lead to some un-expected -intended results. Taking pictures of finished projects is difficult as well so this is all I have to share today.
Hope to be back tomorrow daylight/photography permitting.
Might add more pictures tomorrow to do it full justice, the overall dimensions are h 13" w 9.5" d 3.5". It has taken me a couple of days a lot of which was waiting for ink, paint and glue/sealant to dry.
The base is a ply wood panel from HobbyCraft might have to get another one of these. It has been painted in Black Gesso to set the other elements off. The big paper mache puffy heart has a base coat of white gesso then been spray painted with Imagination Crafts mixed media spray and Glimmer Mists. I love building colours up this way and the added benefit of drip marks, The fan shapes at the top at the top are part of the amazing Tando prize I got earlier this year, the flower shape came from a purchased Tando kit. The fan base coloured with Glimmer Mist, the top as you can see was split up. The frame painted in black gesso, the inners and the flower run through an embossing folder and then painted with Imagination Crafts starlight paint then brushed over with Imagination Crafts Alchemy Wax. Fans and Heart glued onto the black base everything left overnight to really dry and set.
Today happy that everything was in place the heart was stamped and heat embossed with gold ep. Then Modge Podge brushed over the whole piece. Health warning here the Imagination Crafts spray paint is water based, the Modge Podge re-activated it which resulted in changes to the other colours that had over sprayed it but I think it is still OK. Into the wet Modge Podge Stampendous glitter shits and flakes were sprinkled and a piece of holey lace placed at the bottom of the base board. Then it was the long wait for that to dry before hanging it on the wall to photograph.
