3D decoupage old style

20 odd years ago when I was first discovering paper crafting it was 3D decoupage that drew me in.   You would buy packs with the same design printed maybe 5 times, sometimes there was a cutting guide but as often as not you were left to figure the layers out for yourself.   They could be very fussy to cut out as well, fur was probably the worst.

When rubber stamping became the main attraction 3D would still figure in my hobby often a stamp would lend itself to it, so the image would be stamped and coloured several times.

Today I've done much the same thing with a lovely rose stamp from Inkadinkado.   I think Inkadinkado took over the pattens when PSX stopped.   They are among my favourite style of stamps, big enough to make a feature on a card and they are "proper" wood mounted rubber stamps.  I've got several some the original PSX stamps others Inkadinkado.

It occurred to me that August is our driest month and the height of summer when the roses look their very best.

Image stamped 4 times but only 3 imprints used.   The design has been coloured with Chameleon Pens they are perfect for this kind of colouring where you do not want a flat colour but are aiming for light and shade.   The whole flora spray was fussy cut first and then the 3 main flower heads individually cut out.   Keeping it old school the layers were attached with silicon glue not glue buds.    Before the layers were added the edges of the base card were dusted with different and darkening shades of DI.

Challenges this is a response to are

Retro Rubber - Old is New Again, and you have to use a stamp that is more than a year old.  Honestly I've no idea how long I've had this stamp but it has been years.

Ellibelle's Creative Moments - A monthly challenge that I've not visited before, their April Prompt is Say it with Flowers.

Everybody Art - This fortnight their prompt is Flower.

City Crafter - They are celebrating their 8th birthday this month, inviting people to CASE the work of 4 previous designers.  The card from Char caught my eye with it's lovely bold rose design.

Simon Says - This is one of the weekly challenges in this group running from Monday and this week their prompt if Flower Power.

It has been do nice being able to dust off this stamp and join in with so many flower themed challenges.
