They are such bright brave flowers that can pop up in unlikely places bringing splashes of vivid colour to bleak industrial areas.
Not that my card today has anything bleak about it. There are two pieces of DP, something I know many of us struggle with so it has been kept very simple and distressed with Scattered Straw and Wild Honey inks. The topper has been cut using a TH Bigz die, stamped with black Memento then coloured with Chameleon Pens. This time I used two colours touched together so that rather than faded out colour gradually building back to full force, this time the introduced colour dominates over the core colour but as the one colour clears the nib the other takes over. The edges of the topper were also distressed with the same inks as the background papers.
A die cut butterfly rests just above the Poppy image, one of the two background papers was used for this. The "waste" from the die cut makes a very pretty flourish at the bottom of the topper. In keeping with the rustic feel a piece of twine has been wrapped around the spine and tied in a bow.
