This clock took a few days to makeover and it was a great deal of fun. The glass tinted at the bottom with various shades of Alcohol ink. The plate from the workings that separates front and back became the support for die cut cogs and flowers. These die cuts were made using various papers some hand coloured, vellums, and decoupage tissue paper. A butterfly stamped on vellum and gold embossed, this had to be carefully cut out because if you nick the embossing it will crack and come away from the backing.
The clock legs were then re-attached which also holds the inside parts in place. Time to work on the outside, more cog and flower die cuts. The same cards and papers used on the inside were used for the outside. A cog from the original workings caught my eye and now it rests on a decoupage paper flower at the side of the clock. You cannot see it in the picture but one of the bell domes has been reattached as well. The yellow vellum rectangle half frame? That is the waste from a fabulous new die not used here. Even the waste is too good to discard it extends the whole design here.
It looks great in the downstairs hall window, with light coming through from behind.

Wow this is fabulous Zoe....so creative and so very pretty. Thank you for the tip about the butterfly embossed on the vellum. What a great idea to use what was left from the die cut and extend it out from the clock. I bet it looks beautiful in the hall window x.
