Twofer Moon

This little project has kept me occupied for hours today, well it is a wet and windy August day so I wasn't  going any where.

Having entered a Twofer Sun pair and then rediscovering some stamps from Stampscapes with a moon I decided to enter again with Moons.  The Twofer challenge this month is #30 Sun/Moon.  Then I discovered the challenge had closed hahaha.

The main piece is the Calander page for October 2021.  First the Moon image was stamped onto silver/grey Vellum and cut with a circle die.  A circle of masking paper was also cut and used on the card where the stamped image would ultimately go.  Using Big and Juicy ink pads (2 different pads were used) and a brayer the base card was coloured.

The woodland creatures came from a magazine cover set, not sure if this was from last year or the one before.   They were stamped onto the other half of the card used and coloured with Chameleon Pens.  The squirrel should be grey but as our native squirrel's are the Red ones artiste licence has been applied.  Each was fussy cut, before attaching them to the base the same images were stamped onto the base for added depth.    At this point dissatisfied with the depth of colour on the background DI was dusted over the top and bottom.   Now the 3 Toppers could be added with sticky pads.

The second project uses the whole of the stamped image.  I do love these stamps but giving the moon a setting in sky and making it a rectangle with straight edges does make it more challenging to use.  This was an excuse to explore ways of using this stamp.

Using Kaleidacolor and a small brayer the stamp was inked and then pressed onto card.  Using my paper trimmer the image was trimmed to remove all the surrounding card.   A brayer was used to colour the base card with more big and Juicy inks.   There were a couple of challenges in mind one is about party time.  Hampton Art Jazz time set provided the Jazz band stamped in black onto a scrap that had been used to discharge an Inkylicious duster.  Both images were attached to the base card.

With Sakura pens I doodled around the edges of the toppers and added the phase with doodled lettering, as well as the words on the Moon.  Why 1920? Why not?  Under electric light the Sakura Inks sparkle but it cannot be seen in photo.
