I know I commented recently that we in the UK do not have a thanks giving our ancestors arrivals are lost to history. However on reflection we should give thanks for the safe arrival on American shores for all those who left the British Isles over the centuries. Knowing my cousins some more distant than others in America and around the world widens my world view and makes it much more interesting so I am grateful for their forebears religious commitment and/or adventurous spirit.
This "card" is something I'm proud of so much so that I'm sharing quite a bit about it. Grab a beverage and settle in.
It started with a piece of white card trimmed to an 8" square. This card was then polished on both sides with Imagination Crafts Alchemy Wax in Silver, Gold, and Copper.
Then it was scored and creased 2" in from either end (4 line in total) making a central square 4" x 4". The next score lines are from the middle 4" point on each side and they just touch the corners of the 4" square.
Next task was stamping and embossing various leaves. The stamp set used for the leaves and subsequent sentiments is from Creative Expressions - Autumn Foliage. The embossing powders are Frantage Aged Spice, Aged Hunter and Aged Rose. All the leaves were then fussy cut, when cutting out an embossed piece you need to be careful not to snip into the embossing as this will loosen it and lead to it falling off. Sentiment "One touch of Nature makes the whole world kin" stamped in the central square and embellished with some of the leaves. Give Thanks stamped on 2 of the folded back corners other areas dressed with various leaves.
The two roses came from my stash and just seemed to fit perfectly. It is not possible to slide a wrap over the finished card, too many sticky out bits. So the gorgeous yellow ribbon saved from some packaging attached at the base and tied on top.
Before I tell you who I'm sharing this with I wanted to mention again that chat group I'm a member of. Craftworld, right now there is a free to enter draw with 2 top prizes of £380 + brand new crafting products. The group is free to join, the draws are all free to enter.
